One of the trekkings with more clues of the recent glacier’s pass. Not only the geology lovers will find it interesting to read the traces of time. The constant view of the Grande Glacier, the impressive Cerro Solo’s hanging glacier and the promise of the emblematic Mount Torre are enough for those who look for a walk with beautiful landscapes and not so much effort.
The Laguna Torre hike is one of the most classic and accessible trails in Los Glaciares National Park, starting right from the town of El Chaltén. It's perfect for a full-day hike offering stunning views without extreme elevation gain.
Along the trail, hikers pass through lenga forests, open valleys with sweeping views of the Fitz Roy River valley, and scenic spots such as the Cerro Torre Viewpoint. As you progress, the dramatic Adela range and the legendary Cerro Torre come into view.
The hike ends at Laguna Torre, located at the base of the Grande Glacier. From the shore, you can often see icebergs floating in the lake and, on clear days, spectacular views of Cerro Torre, Egger, and Standhardt peaks.
