Experience Yellowstone’s wildest corners on a full-day immersion into the park’s famed Northern Range—home to its richest diversity of wildlife, layered geologic stories, and sweeping valley views. Departing early from Gardiner or West Yellowstone, we’ll begin with a sunrise drive through the Lamar Valley, Yellowstone’s premier wildlife corridor and a favorite habitat for bison, elk, pronghorn, and (with luck) wolves and bears.

From there, we’ll explore scenic and storytelling-rich stops including Slough Creek, Soda Butte, and a walk along the Trout Lake Trail, known for its alpine views and peaceful setting. Guests will enjoy a picnic lunch at a shaded pullout before continuing to Lost Lake Falls, Tower Falls, Calcite Springs, and the Petrified Tree. We’ll close the day with a final stop at Undine Falls, where sunlight and mist make for beautiful photos and peaceful reflection.

This itinerary includes a mix of scenic drives, easy to moderate hiking options, quiet reflection time, and interpretive storytelling. Flexible pacing allows guests to fully enjoy Yellowstone’s quieter side without rushing.

🦌 Will We See Wildlife?

Absolutely—though wildlife sightings vary daily, Yellowstone is full of surprises. Bison, elk, birds of prey, and other animals are often visible during early drives and scenic stops. You’ll almost certainly see wildlife as we travel through the park.

Please note: This tour is available on a first-come, first-served basis. While multiple itineraries may be listed for the same day, only one tour will run per day based on the first booking received.  

You will receive a confirmation email within 12 hours to verify that your selected date and itinerary are still available. 

If your chosen tour/date has already been booked another tour that same date, you will be offered the option to:  

• switch to an alternate itinerary 

• select another available date 

• or receive a full refund

Payment Plan:
• A 20% deposit is due at booking and is non-refundable
• The remaining 80% will be automatically processed 5 days before your scheduled tour

If your final payment fails and is not resolved within 48 hours, your spot may be released to another guest.

Cancellation Policy:
• The 20% deposit is always non-refundable.
• If you cancel more than 5 days before your tour, any additional payments (beyond the deposit) will be refunded.
• If you cancel within 5 days, no refund will be issued—unless your spot can be resold.

Expedition Sisterhood will always do its best to fill unused spots and issue a partial refund when possible.

This policy applies to both single-day bookings and the 5-day bundle.

Gardiner Departure

· Depart Gardiner by 6:15 AM for sunrise wildlife viewing in Lamar Valley— bison, elk, pronghorn, and possible wolves and bears.

· Stop at Slough Creek and Soda Butte for animal observation and regional history.

· Optional: Walk the Trout Lake Trail (~1.2 miles roundtrip with one moderate uphill climb, followed by a gently graded path and a moderate downhill return).

· Pause along the Lamar River for independent exploration and quiet reflection.

· Enjoy a fresh picnic lunch at a scenic pullout—featuring a selection of sandwiches, fruit, veggies, snacks, and drinks—all prepared and packed for you.

· Scenic overlook visits to Tower Fall and Calcite Springs.

· Optional hike to Lost Lake Falls (~0.8 miles out and back from Roosevelt Lodge).

· Stop at the Petrified Tree pullout for a glimpse of Yellowstone’s ancient forest history.

· Final stop at Undine Falls for a layered cascade nestled into the north rim.

· Return to Gardiner by 6:00 PM with optional Mammoth drive-through (as time allows).

West Yellowstone Departure

· Depart West Yellowstone by 6:15 AM and drive over Dunraven Pass, with photo opportunities and sweeping views.

· Scenic overlook visits to Tower Fall and Calcite Springs.

· Continue to Lamar Valley for morning wildlife viewing—bison, elk, pronghorn, and possible wolves and bears.

· Stop at Slough Creek and Soda Butte for animal observation and storytelling.

· Optional: Walk the Trout Lake Trail (~1.2 miles roundtrip with one moderate uphill climb, followed by a gently graded path and a moderate downhill return).

· Pause along the Lamar River for exploration and photography.

· Enjoy a fresh picnic lunch at a scenic pullout—featuring a selection of sandwiches, fruit, veggies, snacks, and drinks—all prepared and packed for you.

· Optional hike to Lost Lake Falls (~0.8 miles out and back from Roosevelt Lodge).

· Stop at the Petrified Tree pullout for a fascinating look at ancient Yellowstone geology.

· Final stop at Undine Falls for a waterfall framed in forest.

· Return to West Yellowstone by approximately 7:00 PM.
