About your trip

Land with Confidence. Settle with Joy. Thrive in Your New European Home.

A 3-day immersive retreat in the Loire Valley for those moving to Europe who want to navigate the transition with clarity, cultural confidence, and emotional ease. We want the experience to support you to not just survive the paperwork, but truly settle in, the human support system for your relocation chapter.

1. Key Details:

  • 📅 11-13 September 2026 (with 2 online sessions, one before the retreat and one after)

  • 📍 Saumur, Loire Valley, France

  • 👥 Maximum 8 participants (including couples)

  • 🏡 Intimate setting in a beautifully restored French home

  • 🍽️ All meals included (French-inspired cuisine)

  • 👥 English Speaking

2. IS THIS FOR YOU?

This retreat is designed for English-speaking individuals and couples who are:

  • Considering a move to Europe (even if you haven't chosen your exact location yet)

  • Recently relocated to Europe and still finding your footing

  • Planning retirement or semi-retirement abroad

  • Making a career change or building a portfolio career in a new country

  • Experiencing (or wanting to avoid) burnout from the emotional weight of relocating

You're in the right place if:

  • You're knee deep in visa paperwork and losing sight of why you wanted to move in the first place

  • You want to build a meaningful life in your new home, not just survive the logistics

  • You're curious about how to navigate cultural differences with grace and confidence

  • You value connection and want to learn alongside others going through the same journey

  • You're open to both the practical and emotional sides of making a major life transition

No French language skills required. No age restrictions. Whether you're dreaming, planning, or already living in Europe, you are welcome here.

3. WHAT YOU'LL EXPERIENCE

The Setting

The retreat takes place at La Maison Trumeau, a beautifully restored 6-bedroom home in Saumur, Loire Valley, which is a charming market town and a region known for its châteaux, vineyards, and warm community. You'll experience authentic French life while exploring what it truly means to settle into a new culture.

Your Three Days

60% Guided Coaching & Workshops

  • Create a clear vision for your new life in Europe and getting off to a good start

  • Navigate the human journey of transition (not just the paperwork)

  • Build cultural awareness and learn to respond to new situations with confidence

  • Develop tools to create bandwidth for what matters—enjoying your new life

30% Cultural Immersion & Connection

  • Saturday morning coffee at the local market (people-watching included!)

  • Wine tasting at a Loire Valley vineyard

  • Informal conversations with local expats who've been where you are

  • Friday evening meal at La Maison Trumeau and Saturday evening dinner at a local French restaurant

10% Personal Reflection & Free Time

  • Wander the charming streets of Saumur at your own pace

  • Sip coffee in hidden cafés and notice how it feels to slow down

  • Space to process, reflect, and imagine your future

This is learning by experiencing rather than a classroom environment. You'll discover insights in unexpected moments, from navigating a French bakery to understanding why your neighbour popped into your garden uninvited.

Mandy Murphy

Mandy is a transition coach who helps people navigate major life changes—from career pivots to international moves. She's passionate about helping others avoid burnout and instead build meaningful, joyful lives in their new homes.
