About this trip

Experience the elusive Northern Lights in the heart of the wilderness… Finland is one of the best places in the world to witness the dancing of the spectacular Northern Lights.  Spend 5 days in the heart of the wilderness surrounded by Lapland’s majestic forests blanketed in powdery white snow and far away from the hustle and bustle of the city and its lights. We have chosen the best setup and time of the year to see the lights, so if it is on your bucket list, this is a must.

Rides via sleigh: Traverse magical snow-dusted landscapes on a sleigh, get up close and personal to a reindeer or a husky and snowmobile through the wilderness!

Igloo Cabins with your own sauna: Warm up in your own personal sauna after a day of snowy adventures and stargaze from the comfort of your own bed in an aurora cabin awaiting a chance to see the elusive Northern Lights.

All-Inclusive in Lapland: Most of the meals and all activities during this trip are already included. Enjoy a worry-free vacation where all you have to do is relax and enjoy!

Egypt is an excursion! Wear some very supportive shoes/boots due to uneven ground. BUT, this trip is totally awesome! The temples, pyramids, sights and sounds of Egypt are unparalleled!

This was my first trip with Globe Drifters (first trip with any travel group for that matter) so as you can imagine, I was quiet nervous and had tons of questions. Jodie and Rebecca couldn't have been more helpful and reassuring during the process leading up to my departure date. The trip itself was amazing! Of course there were a few hiccups along the way, but our local guide helped get through anything that came up. I absolutely loved all the surprises along the journey as well. I booked the trip with the posted itinerary thinking it sounded like an amazing trip. Globe Drifters added so much more along that way that truly made the trip a once in a lifetime experience. I will definitely be traveling with the group again. I do have a couple suggestions. I think you should have an activity level of some sort for each day of the agenda. I felt there were several activities that I personally was not ready or able to do. There were many times I felt I was slowing the group down. I have seen other sites that have a key or a rating scale for physicality. I realize this is all subjective, but it at least a scale gives each person a general idea of what to expect. For example, if there is going to be hiking and it's on steep terrain, I think that should be noted. Or steep, uneven steps with no hand rails, etc. I also felt that the group and guide somewhat 'shamed' those that opted out of an activity for the day. No one knows what a person is struggling with, or why they just might want to stay behind, so if an individual says they don't want to participate, let it be. I don't think that anyone deliberately tried to make another feel bad for not participating, but it did come across like that a few times. Or, have a private conversation with that person to determine if special arrangements could be made for that individual to be comfortable participating. Not every activity is for every person. I also felt the cost was very reasonable for what was included. I went on for another week and worked with a travel agent to put my itinerary together so I did have something to compare costs to and I feel Glove Drifters goes above and beyond to keep their tours affordable for most. As I said above, I will definitely be looking into another one of the Globe Drifters adventures in the future and have already recommend them to several friends!

Vietnam was spectacular, no amount of words I type can compare to just how awesome it was. I'd go back in a heartbeat! This was my first trip with Globe Drifters and they made sure almost every type of experience was included, along with dabbling in different cultural experiences and moving to different places in both North and South Vietnam. We were truly "Globe Drifting" (Vietnam Version) for 2 weeks. Thank you so much for everything, and I hope to be on another trip with you in the future. G-D is also very helpful in making sure the traveler has what he/she needs for an optimal traveling experience.

This trip was great. It was well rounded and an active experience with kayaking, bike riding, a variety of food tastings (ostrich, frogs, venison, etc) which included different ethnic foods as we traveled along. Our guide Loan was exceptional with taking care of our wants and needs. Food and snacks rained from the sky. One particular day riding a Tuc Tuc, we were all hot and sweaty. Loan showed up with a mango smoothly much to our delight! We definitely needed that! Overall my tour mates were awesome. We shared many laughs together with our travels. Our solo male even put up with all of us crazy women. The hotels were fabulous and I felt like royalty. Most of the food was delicious. Note: I want to remind everyone that travels to a foreign land that flexibility and respect to the people is essential. Americans do have a negative reputation in some countries of being rude and pushy. Please don't be that person. Be the person that changes that stigma. Tour guides are there to help but they are not servants. Again, I want to thank Loan, Han, Je and many others for a fantastic adventure and tour. I would highly recommend Globe-Trotters to my friends and family.
