Lets sing, dance, and PLAY in yoga!
"Leela" in Sanskrit means "the divine play," referring to the cosmic theater we live in on a daily basis. By following our joy, we may play in this world and create the life we want to live, rather than abiding by the rules from an outdated script. This workshop is for accessing our inner joy through playfulness, connection, creativity, and yoga. By combining Tantric and Vedantic Kundalini Yogic Techniques, Yoga Therapy, freedom movement and dance, and character analysis and development are used to invoke our highest selves, create a safe space for creativity and self expression. In the play As You Like It, by William Shakespeare, Jacques exclaims, "All the world a stage, and all the men and women only players;" These techniques allow us to realign with our bodies, our voices, and our imagination to connect , play,
What We Will Explore:
Tantric Kundalini Kriyas, using spells, breathwork, and repetitive movements to generate electricity and shift our energetic field within minutes.
Yoga Therapy techniques modified for your unique body type, designed to allow you to reconnect with your instrument in this cosmic theater of life.
Freedom Movement and Connection: Learn to communicate nonverbally, through dance, touch, and partnerwork, and work as an ensemble.
Character Development: Using techniques from the Theater, Stanislavsky, Stella Adler, Lee Strasberg, and Sanford Meisner Masters, we will tap into our imagination, life experiences, and present "drama" in our current daily scripts and apply them to simple AB scenes, giving us the opportunity to release our energy and stored emotions around the stories we have told ourselves within the safety of the script. Afterwards, we will revisit these personal scripts and redirect our emotional energy we learn in the yogic techniques, to respond to the situations from a place of highest wisdom and love.
We have all asked the question "Who Am I?" But how do we want to be asked "Who do I want to be?" As we tap into our highest wisdom, we can reconnect with our true nature and redesign our subconscious mind to respond to the theater of life, from the place of our highest selves. By utilizing Tantric and Vedantic Yogic Practices with the techniques of the Group Theater, together we can experience the value of working in an ensemble, empowering ourselves, relate and create together in a safe space for authentic self expression. This combination of yoga and artistic performance has been combined to offer an experience that enables us to tap into our highest truth and live authentically.
