Upon arrival at Hoedspruit Airport from Johannesburg, you will be warmly met by the Lens & Dens team and transferred into Kruger National Park. 

As you make your way north through the park, enjoy your first game drive and guided field session, learning how to set up your camera for wildlife, work with changing light, and capture the essence of the bush in motion. We’ll stop for lunch at one of Kruger’s rest camps before continuing to your overnight base in the Olifants region, a landscape of sweeping views and winding rivers that’s perfect for golden-hour photography.

Arrive at camp by late afternoon, where you’ll enjoy a relaxed evening orientation and mini-workshop, reviewing key camera settings and composition tips to prepare you for the days ahead. As the sun sets over the savannah, you’ll capture your first images of Africa’s wild beauty, the beginning of your Lens & Dens story.

Begin with a morning game drive in the Olifants region, enjoying tea, coffee, and biscuits while practicing guided photography techniques in stunning surroundings.

Return to camp for lunch and a break, or opt for a packed lunch to picnic inside the park (please arrange with camp in advance).

In the afternoon, head out again for a game drive and hands-on photo practice during golden hour, with expert guidance on natural light and composition.

Relax at camp in the evening, followed by a group photo review and feedback session as the African bush comes alive at sunset.

After breakfast, depart Olifants camp and embark on a morning game drive north through Kruger’s vast savannahs, winding rivers, and dense bush. Capture the stunning landscapes and wildlife with guided photography sessions along the way.

Stop at a rest camp for lunch, with time to relax and review your morning shots before continuing your journey.

Arrive at Shingwedzi camp, settle into your accommodation, then head out for an afternoon game drive in this new area, offering fresh wildlife and photographic opportunities.

Spend two full days discovering the remote northern reaches of Kruger from Shingwedzi Camp, with early morning and late afternoon game drives designed to maximize photographic opportunities. Capture elusive predators, majestic elephants, and vibrant birdlife in diverse habitats, from riverine forests to mopane woodlands.

Enjoy tea, coffee, and light refreshments during drives to keep energized. Between outings, relax at camp and participate in photo review sessions, where you’ll receive tailored feedback and tips to refine your technique and storytelling.

Afternoon drives offer fresh scenes and lighting conditions to practice advanced composition, subject isolation, and wildlife behaviour anticipation. Evenings provide unforgettable sunsets and a chance to unwind beneath the stars, reflecting on your progress and the stories your images are beginning to tell.

Your final morning in Kruger offers one last game drive. A precious opportunity to capture those elusive, defining moments. Watch closely for a leopard resting in dappled shade, a herd of sable antelope silhouetted by the dawn light, or a martial eagle soaring overhead. Each the perfect subject for your closing shots.

By now, you’ve sharpened your eye and mastered techniques that will elevate your wildlife photography far beyond this trip. After the drive, you’ll transfer to Hoedspruit Airport for your flight to Johannesburg, where you’ll connect with your international flight home.
