Restorative Yoga as a way of life w/ Abby Paloma
Weave together your past Restorative Yoga training, your experiences teaching and practicing what you learned there, and new perspectives exploring restoration and restorative practices as a life practice.
With an advanced group of students, teachers, and practitioners, explore Taoist and Chinese medicine Five Element perspectives of seasonal living, learn advanced restorative postures, dive deeper into your personal practice, and discuss pertinent readings.
Our time together will focus on rooting, opening, compassion, and nourishing life practices.
In this 12 hour Level Two Restorative training you will:
- Refine your abilities to observe and adjust bodies at rest
- Learn advanced postures not covered in Level One
- Discover the basis of Yin and Yang theory
- Study the foundation of standing meditation - a way to stand in harmony with the way things are.
- Deeply train in practices that awaken receptivity and compassion
- Geek out with me about anatomical fascinations and subtle body-alignment cueing
- Find answers to your lingering and new questions
- Learn from and practice with my personal teacher, Aswad Foster (with whom I practice outdoors year-round)

Aswad Foster has taught movement, in a wide range of forms, for nearly 20 years. Movement is his passion, his art, and his oasis. He is a senior student of the Fighting Monkey Practice. Aswad currently teaches Movement and Stillness sessions for T.R.U. Movmnt in the LES of Manhattan.
