About this trip

Restorative Yoga as a way of life w/ Abby Paloma

Weave together your past Restorative Yoga training, your experiences teaching and practicing what you learned there, and new perspectives exploring restoration and restorative practices as a life practice.

With an advanced group of students, teachers, and practitioners, explore Taoist and Chinese medicine Five Element perspectives of seasonal living, learn advanced restorative postures, dive deeper into your personal practice, and discuss pertinent readings.

Our time together will focus on rooting, opening, compassion, and nourishing life practices.

In this 12 hour Level Two Restorative training you will:

- Refine your abilities to observe and adjust bodies at rest

- Learn advanced postures not covered in Level One

- Discover the basis of Yin and Yang theory

- Study the foundation of standing meditation - a way to stand in harmony with the way things are.

- Deeply train in practices that awaken receptivity and compassion

- Geek out with me about anatomical fascinations and subtle body-alignment cueing

- Find answers to your lingering and new questions

- Learn from and practice with my personal teacher, Aswad Foster (with whom I practice outdoors year-round)

All styles of yoga have something different to offer, and cross-pollinating yogic material allows us to create a method wholly new and unique, yet refined with rich substance and history. Our teachers are encouraged to blend the yoga material they practice, identify most with, and believe in, rather than sticking to the prescribed, generic curriculum. It was fabulous! Lovely community of people, all warm and welcoming. Lots of new ideas for using props in yoga practice. Beautiful setting and stunning part of Portugal (actually featured on cover of NYT trade section today) Delicious food, relaxed atmosphere and close to incredible beaches.

This was the best group trip I've ever been on - well organized, well structured, with every detail considered and lovingly executed. The participants were delightful and the leaders were exceptional. A+++!

Great holiday and retreat experience. Kate and Jess were fantastic teachers and "group coordinators." I really enjoyed getting to know others during relaxed meals, which went above and beyond expectations in terms of food and service. Well designed rooms were also a plus, as were the pool and beachside. Altogether, a very recommendable trip!
