Level up your practice
A fun and innovative week away for anyone looking to push themselves to the next level and experience yoga from a slightly different perspective.
Inspired by movement including yoga, contortion and dance, this retreat will explore how you can incorporate a multidisciplinary approach into your yoga practice creating sequences which are fun, innovative and smart.
In particular we will focus on developing the strength and mobility to safely support your flexibility practice. We will also focus on creative transitions, exploring how you can move with a sense of purpose, fluidity and grace - with the end result of sequences that feel smooth, connected and seamless.
Each morning will begin with a 'Creative Vinyasa' practice, followed by a two hour master class in the afternoon. These master classes break down and explore the poses, transitions and sequences covered during morning practice, looking at how you can personalize them for your own goals and needs.
International Yoga & Movement Instructor
Rebecca was introduced to yoga through physical theatre and performance. As a performer she was initially attracted to the physical side of yoga and how it could be used as a tool for creative expression. After her 200hr YTT in hatha followed by an additional 200 hours in ashtanga, she discovered a passion for creativity in different styles of movement disciplines. This interest was channeled into further trainings, including 200 hours of Yogic Arts with Duncan Wong (a fusion of martial arts, thai massage and yoga), 50 hours Tripsichore Yoga Choreography, calisthenics, mobility, and Kids and Teen Yoga Teacher Training where she is now an accredited Teacher Trainer. She has taught worldwide, in over 16 different countries across all 4 continents, most recently in China for Pure Yoga. Her own personal practice includes integrating vinyasa with contortion, mobility, calisthenics, and contemporary dance.
Rebecca also has a huge passion for working in social enterprise and community education, with a focus on inclusivity.
Rebecca teaches with a rich interdisciplinary approach, exploring the importance of building strength to support flexibility using movement as a tool for mindfulness, communication, creativity and self-expression.
Class styles taught: Vinyasa, Hatha, Ashtanga, Power Yoga, Yoga Dance, Core, Yin, Yin Yang, Hot Yoga, Wall Rope Yoga
It is a volcanic island, still virgin, with eight free beaches on the East Coast, protected from the Mistral or Scirocco winds, and fantastic rocks, caves, bays with emerald waters, argil sand and little islands in the deep blue, on the West Coast.
Vegetation smells of myrtle, mastic, wild rosemary, olive trees, helichrysum, thyme, pines, oaks and eucalyptus. Sky is almost always blue during the day, with starry nights which fascinated the ancient inhabitants: on the island there is an old astronomic observatory. Its orginal name was Hawk island (Enosim, Hieracon, Accipitrum Insula) due to the Eleonorae hawks migration towards Capo Sandalo from Madagascar. Local LIPU (Italian League for Protection of Birds) oasis is one of the best for birdwatching in Italy. Also the ex-salt farm is a habitat for rare birds: pink flamingoes, ash herons and cavalieri d’Italia. Underwater world is very interesting too, with spectacular caves. A holiday in Carloforte - even for tourists who don’t practice yoga - is like discovering another world.
