In these 4 hours tour we will show you the Historic Center of Lima from the perspective of architects and history lovers. We will check out the different plazas and marvelous buildings from the 16th – 20th century while simultaneously learning how Peruvian history and culture mingle with the present day. Next, descend with us below Lima to visit the famous San Francisco Convent, which displays the largest collection of religious art in America and our highlight will be the visit of the underground vaults, known as catacombs. Lastly, our final destination brings us to the top of it all, a viewpoint overlooking the vast city of Lima, where we will witness the city’s urban growth that arose from the internal migration of families from the Andes and Peruvian jungle.
To jumpstart the tour, we will have the opportunity to try Peruvian coffee. If you aren’t a coffee drinker there are other energy-boosting options, such as a local quinoa-based drink. NOTE, this is a walking tour. We believe that walking is the best way to appreciate all that Lima has to offer. If you prefer to experience this tour a different way, let us know. We assure you that if you wish to explore the city via a vehicle, you will not miss any attractions of the Historic Center of Lima.
