About this trip

Grounded in the timeless Hawaiian principles of ho'oponopono, this is NO ORDINARY YOGA & MEDITATION RETREAT!

LIVE Pono will transform the way you think, act, and live.

Ho'oponopono is fundamental to Native Hawaiian healing traditions.  This retreat introduces you to these principles in the form of a mindfulness-based meditation practice that will enable you to integrate this ancient wisdom into your modern daily life.

In this retreat you'll have the opportunity to:

*     Disconnect from negativity.
*     Step out of the victim/victimizer game.
*     Break through resistance and manifest your dreams.
*     Heal from and prevent dis-ease and chronic pain.
*     Discover the generational impact of individual healing.
*     Experience Hawaiian chant, meditation, and breath.
*     Explore the lush Windward Coast of Oahu.
*     Enjoy mindful yoga and meditation classes daily.

*     Live the Spirit of Aloha so that you may share it with others.

Join us for "LIVE Pono" & BE the ALOHA you wish to see in the world!  No prior yoga & meditation experience is necessary.

Fly directly into Honolulu International Airport.  The Windward Retreat Center is 26-miles miles from the airport.
"The Bus" offers island wide routes at a very affordable rate with stops directly into Ka'a'a'wa where the retreat center is located.

Limited shuttle service through Mind Body Aloha Retreats is available (at an additional cost) from the airport and Waikiki.

Check out Hawaiian Airlines.  They offer various international routes and often have great deals to and from cities on the West Coast of the United States.  Sign up to be a "Hawaiian Miles Member" to get the best rates.  Participants might consider finding an inexpensive flight on Southwest Airlines (or another airline) into a major West Coast city (such L.A., San Francisco, San Jose, Portland, Seattle, or even Las Vegas), and then take a direct flight on Hawaiian Airlines to Honolulu.  For those coming from the East Coast, Hawaiian now has many direct flights from New York.

Alaska Airlines often has affordably priced flights into Hawaii as well.

Really enjoyed the workshop with my long time kumu. Enjoyed all the ladies that were there. Great experience with my new hula sisters! Lunch everyday was excellent and a couple of the dinners that we were treated to. Loved learning to make lei po'o and ti leaf leis (2 different kinds). It was very well planned out and loved the teaching and all the activities. We didn't sleep there, but I noticed that the bedroom area was very nice and welcoming, also nice to have two bathrooms available. We had to stay off site in two different hotels (Paradise Bay Resort and Courtyard by Marriot next to the Polynesian Cultural Center) as we were too late for a private room, but since there wasn't air conditioning at the retreat center, it was a better choice for my husband, Jan. It was quite a bit more money doing it that way, but I understood as Hawai'i is mostly fans and slatted windows to let the air in. It was very hot dancing for several hours. I would have preferred ac for dancing. We were surprised at the high cost of renting a car for a week ($1500.00 at Hertz). We used Hawaiian Airlines, which is our favorite. We were able to get two seats together in the comfort seat area (You get 6 inches more of space). All and all it was a wonderful time, and I'm so glad we did it. I would have missed a lot of important teaching by my kumu if I had stayed home and just bought the materials from her.
