What does a living herbal tradition look like? This is a precious opportunity to explore the wisdom of traditional herbal energetics amidst the blooming gardens at Raven Crest Botanicals, a magical herb farm in upstate NY. Whether you are just starting out on your herbal journey or if you have been studying for some time, an understanding of the traditional skills of pattern recognition and assessment are at the core of a successful herbal practice.
Together we hone observational skills to identify the medicinal properties of plants and to discern the particular physical and emotional states in ourselves and others that these plants can remedy. We will train to see the plant world and our own bodies as a part of nature's cycles and offer a variety of tools to encourage and inspire you to engage the living world directly.
Samuel Perry is a practicing clinical herbalist who is dedicated to giving students a direct experience of herbal energetics using simple intuitive methods. As herbalists we practice looking deeply into the patterns of the natural world. Sam’s method offers a way to receive, retain and reflect on this vast amount of information and develop a fluid herbal practice based on direct observations.

It is most important to us to provide a safe and COVID free environment during our events. Due to the ongoing pandemic we require all instructors, helpers, volunteers, chefs and participants to provide a negative COVID test (Antigen or PCR) taken within 24 hours before the start of the retreat. We are asking for proof of negative test results with the full name of each person before being admitted to the event. We are also asking participants, helpers and instructors to limit their contact with other people in the preceding days before the event and follow general covid safety guidelines. Summer 2022 is still a while away and these requirements are subject to change as our journey during these times continues.
