In November, join me on a 6-day tour of Barolo as we get up close and personal with nebbiolo and Piedmont’s culinary culture. Last year's trip was amazing - the group is still in touch regularly on our WhatsApp group! I can't wait to do it again! 

The program highlights my favorites, offering a full sensory immersion, from sight to sound, taste, smell, and touch.

Monday, November 3 2025: Arrival

• Hotel Check-in: Deluxe room
• Welcome Dinner: Stroll one of the most charming Barolo villages to a traditional dinner with white truffles and of course, Barolo. 

Tuesday 4 November 2025: Intro to Piedmont Wine

• Free Morning 
• Farm-to-Table Experience: The intimate Area Wine MasterClass with 7-course Pairing Lunch takes places at the proprietor's childhood home with a visit to her experiential garden. All food is from the garden or neighboring artisans.  
• Barolo Winery Visit
• Barolo Village Visit (free time)
• Free night

Wednesday 5 November 2025: Truffles! 

• Ancient Truffle Hunt: At a historic family-run winery, experience the age-old truffle hunt at Barolo's only bio-dynamic winery. Learning about it's history as well as the property's ecosystem. 
• Artisan Barolo Winemaker Truffle Lunch: Next, we move to a teeny Barolo winemaker who prepares a 4-course lunch, served at her family's kitchen table flanked by epic vineyard views. Includes a mini-vertical of her cru Barolo. 
• Vermouth Cocktails with Apericena: After a rest back at the hotel, reconvene at the hotel for Apericena. Heavier than aperitivo, lighter than dinner. We're joined by a mixologist who whips up Vermouth cocktails featuring the new production by my dear friends Elena Penna and Luca Currado - you might remember their family winery, Vietti! We aren't sure if Elena and Luca will be able to make an appearance, but we'll certainly request a signature recipe!
• DINNER NOTE: Apericena will last until about 20/20:30 and can serve as dinner after the bigger lunch. However, for those looking for a more complete meal in the village, we can help with recommendations.  

Thursday 6 November 2025: Barbaresco

• Barbaresco Winery Visit: Today we head to Barbaresco for a visit with my friend Claudia Cigliuti. She welcomes us for a tasting followed by a lunch that will be filled with surprises - for everyone! 
• Alla Cieca Blind Tasting Lunch: Claudia joins us after our visit at her brother-in-law's ristorante with some of the area's best selections of bistecca. Our 3-course meal includes a blind tasting, wines chosen by the owner himself (he's the only one who knows the bottles)! 
• Visit the village of Barbaresco (free time)
• Winemaker Dinner at a Private Villa: For dinner, we head to a private villa in the Alta Langa for a relaxed evening with a couple of winemakers. Our hosts, an American wine/food photographer and his wife share wines form their private collection and make an array of foods on the wood-fired oven - pizza, roast veggies, chicken wings, sausage, and more!

Friday 7 November 2025

• Barolo Winery Visit: Our Barolo adventures continue with a visit that focuses on area cru Barolo wines. 
• Cucina Piemontese Lunch: Lunch takes place in a little frazione of the Barolo winemaking area of Monforte. The itsy bitsy Piemontese ristorante serves us up a spectacular, hearty meal with some more truffles and of course, Barolo! 
• Free night

Saturday 8 November 2025 

• Alba Walking Tour with a visit to the Alba White Truffle Fair: Truffle fair tickets included. 
• Free afternoon in Alba (lunch and shopping)
• Dinner at Ristorante Guido: Our final dinner is at one of the area's most revered Michelin-star ristorante's. One of my winemaker friend's joins us!
