An Overlander’s Weekend in Donegal

Dust off the rig, check your tyre pressures, and get ready for a weekend of epic scenery and challenging trails in the heart of Donegal’s wild landscape. This isn’t a leisurely drive; it’s a fully immersive overlanding experience designed for those who want to get their wheels dirty and their souls recharged.

Across the weekend we’ll leave the tarmac behind, engaging low-range to tackle rocky climbs, boggy tracks, and remote mountain passes. Careful line selection, teamwork, and patience will be rewarded with sweeping views of Donegal’s most iconic peaks and valleys — the kind of vistas few travellers ever get to see.

When the day’s driving is done, we’ll set up a proper wild camp, tucked away in the hills. Evenings are spent around the fire (where permitted), sharing stories, cooking under the stars, and soaking in the peace of Ireland’s untamed northwest.

No trip would be complete without time by the ocean. Wide, windswept beaches provide a final challenge — mastering sand driving while enjoying the freedom of a vast Atlantic strand, with waves on one side and towering dunes on the other.
