This school year your students will have the awesome opportunity to "live" what they are learning, as we travel across Georgia! Georgia's geography and rich history will be studied, as your child will get to experience time periods including Georgia's original inhabitants, Georgia's European settlement, Georgia's role in the Civil War, how Georgia helped change the course of WWII, and more! This will be an awesome experience your child won't want to miss!! For any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to us at contact@aplus-tours.com.
Your first day will begin with a stop at Plains, Georgia. Here, students will learn about the role that a small town, rural upbringing had on President Jimmy Carter as they tour his boyhood farm. Following the tour, we will travel to Americus where your students will get to experience what it is like to eat on a college campus as we enjoy a buffet-style lunch at Georgia Southwestern State University. Following lunch, we will travel to Andersonville Historic Site, where students will get to learn about Fort Sumter and the awful conditions prisoners were placed in during the Civil War. A tour of the POW Museum concludes our time in Andersonville. We will then travel to Savannah, where we will eat a catered dinner at Barnes' Restaurant and end our evening with a ghost trolley tour of Savannah's haunted history.
