Following breakfast at the hotel, your students will travel to St. Marys, Georgia where they will load a ferry boat to travel to Cumberland Island.  One of the most historic of Georgia's Barrier Islands,  This protected island is home to wild horses, loggerhead turtles, and countless species.  During your Ranger-led tour, your students will be taken through a series of activities and see the Dungeness Ruins, the remains of a mansion built by the brother of Andrew Carnegie.  A picnic lunch of Firehouse Subs, will be provided.  Once back at St. Marys, your students will travel to St. Simons Island.  Here, a Ranger-led tour of Fort Frederica.  The architectural remnants of of Fort Frederica are the remainder of the town and fort built by James Oglethorpe to protect Georgia from the Spanish army.  Following the tour, your students will enjoy a buffet-style dinner at Golden Corral and the evening will end with bowling before returning to the same hotel as night 1.

Day 3 will showcase Savannah, as your students will spend the bulk of their day exploring Savannah's history.  Following breakfast, your tour begins at the First African Baptist Church.  This Church, built by slaves as a place to worship, is largely considered the southernmost post of the Underground Railroad.  Following a tour, your students will travel to River Street where they will be given some time for shopping and free time along this iconic path.  The buses then depart for the Mighty Eighth Air Force Museum, where a Chick-Fil-A lunch and 90 minute tour of the museum and the Mighty Eighth's role in WWII will be the focus.  From the Mighty Eighth, students will travel home, stopping to tour the Oculmulgee Indian Mounds in Macon before arriving back at school!
