Weather & Climate

The Greater Kruger National Park bushveld area is renowned for high temperatures, but as we head into winter, May is still a warm month. The average maximum daytime temperature in Klaserie Private Nature Reserve in May lies at 29.1°C (84.38°F). The average minimum temperature goes down to around 13.2°C (55.76°F) mainly at night.

May is a dry month with an average of 8mm (0.3 inches) of rain. This makes it the driest month of the year which is excellent for game viewing as wildlife tends to congregate around scarce water sources. The bush is also dry and dying off, providing excellent conditions to view game.

EARTH - Arrive & Unwind

Your trip will commence on Friday 19th May at 10am where we will meet at OR Tambo International Airport domestic departures (Terminal B) to check-in to the flight to Hoedspruit at 11:40 on CemAir.

Our journey takes us east for an hour by air to the Greater Kruger National Park region, before landing in our beautiful bushveld wilderness where we will be whisked to our exclusive lodge in air conditioned comfort.

After arriving with welcome refreshments, we will convene for a scrumptious lunch before settling in to our space and starting to unwind. Afternoon tea will be served after which we head out in 2 open-top game vehicles for personalised game viewing.

During our game drives we can encounter any number of animals, from the Big 5 to the Shy 5!  Let yourself be immersed in the bush and tune into the natural rhythms of the wilderness.

Wildlife permitting, we will officially start our retreat with a sunset meditation in a unique setting.

Returning in the crisp evening air, we will have a specially crafted round-table dinner where we get to know the other participants and discuss the weekend ahead.
