I met some incredible friends on my recent trip to Nepal, and had some extremely great guides and porters!! Great memories, great views, great experience (although a lot more challenging than I was anticipating!!). And while most of the staff was absolutely incredible, I have some concerns about the owner of the company and how the company is run. Seems that the owner is more interested in squeezing every penny out of you and less concerned about the health and safety of the people on the tour.

This is a very mixed review. We booked this as an add-on to our Bhutan tour. Chitwan was great, Pokhara was not. The description said travel by tourist bus and the estimated travel times were low - it took longer than the description to arrive in Chitwan. I know that traffic, construction, road conditions, etc can affect travel time, but it was 8 hours to go 100 miles and the description did not say that long. A tourist bus implies direct route, our bus stopped 6-8x at each end to pick up or drop off passengers. When we arrived in Chitwan, there were many hotel transfers waiting. We were never provided with a hotel name and none of them had our name. Our time in Chitwan was great. We had 3 different guides - rhino walk guide was great, informative, friendly. Woods/jungle walk & elephant sanctuary guide was also great. Our jeep safari guide seemed knowledgable but spoke so quietly that nobody could hear him in the jeep. He didn't volunteer much information, but once asked something, he did elaborate. The Hotel Parkland was nice, friendly staff. The dance performance was fun. Some time in town with transportation back to hotel would have been a good option to provide. Bus on to Pokhara again took longer than advertised. We were not provided a hotel name in advance. Our driver brought someone that he said was his brother as our guide. This young man was nice & friendly, but was not an official guide. He had no idea where to take us, luckily I had a list from the tour description (which is no longer on the Luxury Holidays Nepal website and your brochure does not provide details.) He laughed that he got into the cave free as our "guide". When I said that he was our guide, he told me he was practicing and wants to become a guide. He can probably become a good guide with training. What we expected to be a full day was half day, which was fine since he was not very good. Prior to leaving Kathmandu, a tour rep said we could fly back to KTM and that our guide would ask us and arrange it. The kid who was our "guide" never asked, never knew about this. We emailed Resham Shrestha and he arranged for our flight back to KTM at the end of our tour. I would be very hesitant to recommend this tour. Pokhara was a dissapointment after so much rough travel to get there.

This was a trip of exceptional value, we had a great time. The events were delivered as promised, lots of attention from our tour guide arranging additional events for us. The company did a good job of service recovery in replacing an unsatisfactory bus with a good one for our transit from river rafting to Chitwan and Pokhara, as well as arranging internal flights for us from Pokhara to Kathmandu to avoid a long bus ride over very bad roads. A couple of suggestions: 1) Provide a next-day itinerary either as a hand out or digital document. Guide tried to do this one on one with us which led to much confusion and conjecture amongst group. 2) Tour-end farewell dinner location was not good-very noisy and with mediocre food. Folk-dance demonstrations were very good, but lost in noise and clamor of the venue. Not a good, quite farewell type event we had hoped for. 3) Provide a vicinity map around the hotels, to include ATM locations, recommended restaurants and cultural or shopping areas. 4)World Heritage tour-we elected the full seven site tour, which was great. However it took eleven hours and we were quite tired at the end. Guide noted the usual tour is four or three sites depending on group size. I I highly recommend this trip and tour company.

Despite the awful unseasonable wet weather we had a very enjoyable time. The road trips were very tedious due to the amount of landslides affecting the routes, but this was no one's fault. We still managed to do an Ultralight flight (extra charge of $70 USD as didn't do the bungee jump....normally would have been $110) which was very good, then also managed to experience the Paragliding (my favourite of all the activities!), the Zip-line...great fun, even though by the time we got to do it it was dark! The Hot Air balloon trip early next morning luckily went ahead and was great, shame the clouds were still obscuring the wonderful mountain scenery, which only started manifesting itself as we were leaving Pokhara! Before these estivates we did manage to do our Water Rafting (brown rather than white due to the extremely flooded river!) and also visited Chitwan (The most superb accommodation!), but due to unforeseen circumstances we arrived very late (11pm) so had an extremely late dinner! We did manage the cut-out canoe ride on the river and visit to the Elephant Breeding Centre, but in the afternoon due to the amount of flooding were unable to go to the areas where the guide said we were more likely to see tigers. Our Guide Pradip was superb throughout, and can't Thank him enough for the extra work he had to put in for us to get to our destinations, and achieve our extra activity goals. 5 stars for him!!

We have just returned from our trip to Nepal arranged for us by Luxury Travels. Everything was worked out to perfection, the guides and the drivers were great and made every effort to make our trip into enjoyable and unforgettable experience. I have no hesitation to recommend this company who wishes to visit this wonderful country.
