4:00 AM. Meet the guide at the lobby of your hotel and start the hike to temple No. 4 to see the sunrise, return the hotel for breakfast.

Then, you will begin the guided tour going through the most important city in the Mayan world, a mixture of nature and archaeology. 7:00 am, begin the adventure with a short transfer from your hotel to San Cristóbal el Alto (20 Minutes) where you will enjoy a nature experience taking pictures of amazing sceneries of Antigua; breakfast in a local restaurant with the breathtaking views to the volcanoes

Then continue to Finca El Pilar. This is a small paradise located in the mountain forest of Guatemala and just 10 minutes away from the center of La Antigua Guatemala. It has an infrastructure of trails for hiking and bird watching, which spread through the organic plantations of coffee, mountain forest and cloud forest as well. The vegetation of this reserve is mainly constituted by coffee, pine and oaks, settle at an altitudinal range from 1,710 to 9,500 feet above sea level. 

One of the main attractions in Finca El Pilar is in the zone of hummingbird’s feeders where it is possible to spot a wide variety of hummingbird’s species that inhabit the area feeding oneself at the same time which represents a great opportunity for nature lovers.

After the tour, transfer back to Antigua and begin a cultural Walking Tour in Antigua, this is a journey through time and history, visiting ruins, churches, markets, and museums; in this city the stories and legends of the colonial times are still present along with the old, paved streets. In this journey you will visit: La Merced Church, Convent Las Capuchinas, Saint Joseph Cathedral, Central Park, and the local craft market.

Overnight El Convento Boutique Hotel

The Pacaya volcano is one of the three active volcanoes in Guatemala, located in the municipality of San Vicente Pacaya, in the province of Escuintla. It has an elevation of 2,552 meters above sea level (8,373 ft.) and is one of the most recommended volcano hikes due to its easy ascent and spectacular views of the volcanic chain. 

Our tour begins with a morning transfer from Antigua Guatemala (1 hour) towards the foothills of the active Pacaya volcano. 

This volcano hike will take 1.5 hours. Approximately and requires a moderate effort. Take note that is possible to rent a horse at the entrance of the park.

Our path will take us through a pine forest, where you will get to volcanic ash and finally reach the cone. From the top we can enjoy excellent views of the volcanoes at the North; the lowlands of the Pacific coast and El Salvador. After enjoying our volcano adventure tour, we will return to the foothills to take our car back to your hotel.

If you do not want to go hiking, you can have a full day at leisure exploring Antigua.

This Volcano hiking trip is one of the most exciting Volcano experiences hiking through the Acatenango Volcano to experience one of the most active volcanoes in the World, Fuego Volcano, in this tour you will enjoy the panoramic view and the volcanic explosions and pyroclastic flow.

Today the hike starts at 08:00 am with the transfer from Antigua to La Soledad Village. You should eat breakfast beforehand, and we highly recommend packing snacks for the road.

Volcán Acatenago, stands at 3,975 meters tall.

This hike can also be done in one day, as it takes about 5-6 hours to reach the summit from the start of the hike. The starting point at Acatenango volcano is 3,975 meters. Above sea level, located between Chimaltenango and Sacatepequez. 

During the route, you will observe how the microclimates and terrain change around you while you are approaching the camp. On this day you will go through the local farms’ fields, followed by cloud forests with a rich biodiversity of flora and fauna. Upon arrival, if you are lucky enough and have a clear sky, you will be able to enjoy the fantastic views of the neighboring volcanoes such as Atitlan, Toliman, San Pedro, Santa Maria, Santo Tomas, and Tajumulco.

Tonight, we’ll camp under the star and watch the live lava of the active volcanos. The darkness will be an exceptional accomplice to experience the eruptions and also to freeze the moment with fantastic photographs; likewise, the sunrises are spectacular when the weather allows it.

Early in the morning gets ready for the toughest part of the hike, you will walk for about 45 minutes, ascending to the summit to see the sunrise. This trail is a combination of sand and stones. At the summit, the group will rest and the breathtaking views of the Guatemalan Highlands. 

After 45 minutes at the top, start the descent back to the camping for breakfasts and then to La Soledad, where our team will be waiting for the transfer to Lake Atitlán Area.

En route, we’ll stop at Chichicastenango Market, where the scent of incense and the people's mysticism promises a unique atmosphere, bargaining of prices and a church with mixed Mayan and Catholic traditions. This is a market that every Thursday and Sunday appears and disappears as one of the ancient commercial traditions of the Guatemalan highlands and that now delights the visitors. 

Afternoon transfer back to the Lake Atitlan (1 hour)

Morning visit to the markets of Panajachel, which has the best local market. 

Then boat transfer to San Marcos La Laguna to explore ancient Mayan customs and traditions, here you will meet with a local healer and explore the vortex and spiritual healing of this magical place.
