Arrival to Mexico City 

Your adventure begins in the energetic heart of Mexico City. Upon arrival, a private driver will welcome you and escort you to your hotel in the historic center. Depending on your flight schedule, take time to relax, wander the nearby streets, or simply savor the city’s rhythm as you adjust to its altitude and lively pace. The afternoon is yours to ease into the journey, preparing for the cultural and historical experiences ahead.

Historic Center Walking Tour 

Step into the historic soul of Mexico City with a guided walking tour of its iconic center. Stand in the vast Zócalo, one of the largest public squares in the world, and admire the grandeur of the Metropolitan Cathedral. Stroll through traditional markets, taking in the colors, sounds, and flavors of daily life. Your journey continues to the Ministry of Education to encounter Diego Rivera’s murals, powerful depictions of Mexico’s social and political history. The evening returns you to your hotel, leaving you inspired and ready for tomorrow’s exploration.

Puebla & Cholula 

Travel by road to Puebla, beginning with a stop in Cholula. Explore the Great Pyramid and its hilltop church, where sweeping views of nearby volcanoes await. Discover the ornately decorated churches of Santa María Tonanzintla and San Francisco Acatepec, celebrated for their indigenous baroque style. Continue to Chipilo for a tasting of local cheeses, wines, and dairy specialties, before arriving in Puebla for check-in and a welcome dinner.

Puebla City Tour 

Explore Puebla’s UNESCO-listed historic center with our local guide, wandering vibrant streets and plazas adorned with colorful Talavera tiles. Visit the Cathedral and other architectural treasures, then step into history at the Forts of Loreto and Guadalupe, sites of the famed Cinco de Mayo battle. This afternoon, step inside a Talavera de la Reyna workshop and find yourself surrounded by centuries of artistry – hand-painted tiles and pottery glowing in brilliant blues, yellows, and whites, as skilled artisans shape, glaze, and paint each piece using time-honored techniques that trace back to the 16th century, offering a colorful glimpse into the living traditions that make this region of Mexico so magical. You’ll have time this evening to explore on your own.

Venture into the Sierra Norte to Chignahuapan, a town renowned for its festive spirit and year-round production of handcrafted Christmas ornaments. Continue to Zacatlán de las Manzanas, surrounded by orchards and mountains, and enjoy a lunch highlighting regional apple-based specialties. Take time to wander through the town’s charming streets before returning to Puebla.
