San Salvador Historical Centre — a short guided walking tour (~60 minutes) featuring the Metropolitan Cathedral (closely connected to the legacy of Archbishop Óscar Romero, whose story of advocacy and martyrdom resonates far beyond El Salvador), the National Palace, and Gerardo Barrios Plaza — a meaningful pause in the capital before heading to the coast.
