Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if this trip is right for me?

The basic requirement is that you are a woman 21 years old or older. There is not a max age, but travelers need to be able to be physically active and able to ride in the car for a few hours at a time. There will be a couple of days that we have long drives, as we are trying to see as much of two countries as we can on this trip. You will also be in a vehicle during the game drives (which get bumpy) and a boat on the sunset cruise and the boat safari. We will do a good bit of walking.

More importantly, this trip is right for you if you are looking for a trip that is meaningful, unique, educational, exciting, and adventurous.

Join us if:

  • You have ever dreamed of going on an African safari

  • You love to visit places that are “off the beaten path”

  • You are open-minded and adventurous

  • You are willing to step outside of your comfort zone to have an experience of a lifetime

  • You want to meet new travel besties

  • You are interested in learning about other cultures and ways of life

Do I need a visa to travel to Malawi or Zambia?

As of January 2026, U.S. Passport holders do require a visa to visit Malawi, but not Zambia. The cost of the single-entry visa for Malawi is $50. This is subject to change. Once you have booked, Amy will provide the link to purchase your visa, along with a visa support letter to use in your application. (this sounds scarier than it is...it is a simple process, that you will be assisted with)

Do I need medications or vaccinations for travel?

You will need to check with your local health department and/or the CDC website to determine what is needed for you. Some vaccines depend on where you are traveling from. Malaria medications or proper bug spray are highly encouraged for your travels.

What flights do I need to book?

You will be assisted with these details once at least 4 people have booked their trips. Typically, travelers fly into Blantyre Airport (BLZ), also known as Chileka International. Travelers will depart from Mfuwe International Airport (MFU). Individuals staying for the add-on, will arrive and leave out of the same airports. Stay tuned for specific flight dates and times.

Do I have to share a room?

Trip price is based on double occupancy rooms. Roommates will be assigned closer to the trip date. You will have a chance to “virtually” meet the other travelers on our Malawi/Zambia Facebook group page and through a meet and greet zoom call before the trip. If you prefer to upgrade to a private room, you will need to make this request as soon as possible. Private rooms are subject to additional cost of $650 and are on a first come first served basis.

Can I bring a friend?

Yes, absolutely! The more the merrier. If you have a travel partner that would like to experience Malawi with us, send an email to info@justgoadventures.com and provide the names and emails of both parties. You both will be sent a “bring a friend” discount code to use at booking. (be sure to get the code before booking)

The group will stop to enjoy a quick morning coffee and biscuits while observing wildlife drifting quietly through the landscape. This park is known for its remarkable density of wildlife, and each turn offers something new to discover.

  • Lounge by the pool overlooking the river

  • Drift into a peaceful nap

  • Watch hippos, elephants, and birds move through the landscape from the comfort of your room or lobby

Animals become more active, the sky glows with deep copper and rose, and the river reflects the last light of day. You will enjoy your favorite beverage (alcoholic or nonalcoholic) while watching yet another beautiful sunset.

We will end our day of safari with a night drive, where you will be on the lookout for creatures with glowing eyes, predators beginning their patrols, and the sounds of the night rising around you.
