About this trip

Choose Malawi and you'll be joining us on the run of a lifetime in our most intimate travel experience.

Not only will you spend the week living in our Athletes' Village on the shores of Lake Malawi, you'll also be getting stuck right into the work of Naturally Africa Foundation, within the small communities around Nkope. This is a very rural experience, unlike anything else in the Impact Marathon Series.

For the first few days you'll get stuck into a variety of projects, then after resting up on day 5, you'll join locals for our iconic Malawi Impact Marathon!

The Impact

See feel and understand your impact - who we support in Malawi.

As part of our commitment to the United Nations Global Goals, over the past three years we've been supporting Naturally Africa Foundation, which works across No Poverty, Zero Hunger & Health&Wellbeing.

We take The Global Goals from being sometimes abstract concepts to being real, tangible and understandable on a micro-level.

The Impact Marathon dream is to elevate running to be a major contributor to achieving the UN GLOBAL GOALS!

Trip postponed due to Covid and political situation in Ethiopia so still haven't travelled

The trip itself was great, brilliant guides and amazing things to see. The organising and communications from the old town outfitters was poor - we had three different versions of timings and itineraries! It would have also been better if we’d had more free time at the lake (as at least one itinerary suggested...) as all the steps and the post marathon body did need a bit more tlc than it got on this trip

An amazing experience. Everything was so well organised - the team really go out of their way to make sure that everyone has an unforgettable experience. A great mix of travel, meeting some amazing people, giving back and running in a stunning national park. The run is suitable for anyone - from people walking the 10k to people completing their 50th Marathon! If you are thinking of booking Nepal 2020 then do it - you won't regret it!

An absolutely incredible week, and a totally unique experience. I’d echo the other reviews – Impact week’s are not your typical tourist trip: we got hands on helping rebuild a mountain road, had our eye’s opened with some challenging but inspiring charity visits, stayed in a fantastic location with some of the most stunning views, and best of all shared it all with some amazing people. I’d highly recommend Impact trips for anyone travelling solo, they’re a great way to meet a real mix of people from all over the world who are brought so closely together by the experiences over the week.
