Join Blue Planet on our inaugural trip to the Maldives! We can't wait to explore the stunning dive sites of this tropical paradise from the Emperor Explorer on their "Best of the Maldives" itinerary. Join us for another incredible adventure!
A dreamy tropical oasis above and below, the Maldives atoll offers world-class diving experiences wowing with an abundance of marine life and spectacular coral reefs. Made up of nearly 1,200 islands, the inner and outer reefs are a haven for wildlife.
Scuba diving in the Maldives is among the world’s best – hard and soft corals, swim-throughs, and 25 species of sharks. Particularly, the Maldives’ waters support the world’s largest known population of reef manta rays, and whale sharks are also seen year-round, making it a dream destination for divers from all over the world.
Emperor Explorer
Our liveaboard Emperor Explorer is the epitome of luxury. You will be spoiled cruising the Maldives atolls on this magnificent and spacious vessel. Launched in 2019, M/V Emperor Explorer is modern and safe with all amenities a diver could need across four large decks.
With guests' comfort top of mind, staterooms have their own bathroom facilities and are individually air-conditioned. The main salon is vast with scenic views during dinner, and the upper deck includes a spacious outdoor lounge area and a hot tub. Diving is conducted from a large custom-built dhoni. No ordinary tender, it has ample space for all divers, cameras, and gear.
The Diving
Minimum dive certification/experience: Advanced Open Water is required, as some locations will be below 18m and we can experience strong currents.
Our itinerary is "The Best of the Maldives" – and it delivers exactly that. This is where you dive the best and most famous dive sites of the Maldives in a week of wonderful liveaboard diving across Male, Ari & Vaavu atolls.
Enjoy a dive holiday that gives you all you could wish for from the iconic sites of North Male, South Male, Ari & Vaavu Atoll. Awaiting you are channels (Kandus), pinnacles (Thilas) & cleaning stations where you have every chance of meeting mantas, a variety of sharks and mezmerising marine life of so many varieties.
This itinerary gives you a marine mix of big fish such as shark and manta dives as well as reef dives, reef fish, morays and macro life. Get up close at the cleaning stations without disturbing the locals! A sunset/night dive at Alimatha, Vaavu atoll is a must to have a memorable experience with the resident nurse sharks as they gather here at the end of each day.
