KILIMANJARO MARANGU ROUTE DAY HIKE OVERVIEW
The Kilimanjaro Marangu Route Day Hike Trip | One day hike up the slopes of Africa's highest mountain to the first base camp of the Kilimanjaro Marangu route is one of many adventures for those who want at least a taste of Mount Kilimanjaro. Usually it is carried out in 1 day. You will hike through the rainforest zone or vegetation zone to Mandara Hut. The rainforest area of Kilimanjaro is dense and lush and is home to many different species of birds and monkeys, such as blue monkeys and colobus monkeys. After Mount Kilimanjaro day tour, you have option to return to Arusha or Moshi and you can plan another day tour like Marangu village day tour and waterfall tour.

You leave Moshi/Arusha early in the morning after breakfast towards Kilimanjaro Marangu Gate, ready for a day hike. The journey takes approximately 1 hour. After completing registration at the gate, begin your Kilimanjaro Marangu Route day hike. As you trek to Mandara Hut along a narrow trail through the rainforest of Mount Kilimanjaro, you will meet various climbers descending from the top. At Mandara Hut you will have your lunch and the option to take a short walk to Maundi Crater. The views east over Taveta and north west to Mawenzi Peak are stunning on a clear day, making the short hike well worth it. You will then have the opportunity to take photos once you reach Maundi Crater before descending to Marangu Gate. Our vehicles will be waiting for you at Kilimanjaro Marangu Gate to take you back to Moshi/Arusha.
