About this trip

Maratika Heli Charter will take you to the Maratika which is a very famous cave located in the far eastern part of Nepal. Haleshi Mahadev is situated inside the Maratika Cave at about 185 kilometers southwest of Mt. Everest  in Khotang District. Khotang District also contains many small caves  and famous Maratika Monastery. Maratika Cave and monastery is a place of  pilgrimage and is sacred to Buddhists. The cave has been mentioned in  Tibetan literature since the 12th century and is associated with the  long life. Haleshi Mahadev is a gift of nature which is famous for its  historical, religious, cultural and tourism importance and many people  stop at this cave for religious rituals along with their pilgrimage. A  tour to Maratika takes you to all these places.

Maratika heali charter also gives you the chance to  explore Haleshi Mahadev which is one of the popular pilgrimage sites for  Hindus and Buddhists around the world. It is said to be the abode of  God Shiva while hiding away from the monster Bhasmasur so it is as  famous as the temples like the Pashupatinath of Kathmandu.  Huge presence of devotees can be found there on the festivals like  Shivaratri, Bala Chaturdashi, Ramnawami, and Teej. The place is unique  so anybody who visits appreciates the temple for its beauty as well as  for its natural inheritance. There are three mysterious caves and we can  find the image of Lord Shiva, Nandi, and Bhairav in first, second and  third cave respectively.

The whole trip (odyssey!) was fantastic. Every stage right on schedule. Our pilot Captain Prakesh was super professional, informative, helpful and a wonderful pilot. The loop above the Icefall & Western Cwm and back to Kala Patthar was absolutely sensational. Luckily the weather was perfect. The stops at Lukla, Periche, Kala Patthar & Everest View Hotel were fun. The flight across the glacier & down the valleys was an experience of a lifetime. Extremely well done!!

Everything was on time and the trip was exactly as described in the brochure. Highly recommended & highly complimentary to the trek we did earlier. Kala Pattar is quite high and though I didn’t need it, oxygen was available on the helicopter.
