Mayan Magic In Mystical Mexico - Winter Solstice with Siri Sat and Guru Dharam
Winter Solstice in Mystical Mexico
Isla Mujeres and Chichen Itza
December 15-22, 2021
This is a golden opportunity to immerse yourself in the beauty of Mayan mysticism and Caribbean culture.
We base ourselves in the radiant Isla Mujeres - the Island of the Women - about 8 miles off the Caribbean coast. 1500 years ago it was part of the Mayan province of Ekab. With a long tradition of venerating the Sacred Feminine, this intimate island is a perfect place to practice the Shakti transmission of Kundalini and purify ourselves in readiness for the splendor of Chichen Itza.
This island was a sacred sanctuary of Ixchel Goddess of the Moon, Fertility, Medicine and Joy. Legend tells that when Cordoba landed on the island in 1517 it was populated by the High Priestess of Ixchel and her women initiates and so was named the Island of the Women. Since then, it has had a long history of veneration of the Virgin and more recently played an essential role in the preservation of the turtles population. Having imbibed such a sacred vibration and purified our essence, we journey to that great jewel in the Mayan crown, the City of Chichen Itza.
Nothing can prepare you for its unique splendor: as both a religious center of Temples of Light and as a scientific complex containing an astronomical observatory, the House of the Deer and the Akab Dzib the house of Occult Manuscripts. The complex is extraordinarily well preserved with much of the breathtaking architecture pristine including the legendary ball court which mirrors the astrological precessions of solstices. The Temple of the Warriors, the Temple of the Jaguars, the Temple of the Nuns and the Rack of Skulls await your presence. Anyone with an interest in ancient anthropology would be enraptured by these sights but an adept of the School of Kundalini would draw great inspiration from the symbolism and mystical knowledge which is carved in stone throughout the complex and invites the Serpent Kukulkan to manifest in the Temple during the Solstice.
This is a Yatra, a sacred journey, a yoga and deep meditation retreat which calls upon the sacred practice of Kundalini Yoga as the mode of transformation of consciousness guided by the Temples of Light and shared by the Kindred Spirits who have will accompany you. All are welcome.
