Start the day with breakfast at the hotel before getting on the Turibus Historic Center Circuit Bus just steps from our hotel. On this step-on step-off bus, we will see some of the major sights from the road in the city center. After lunch, we will head to the amazing Anthropology Museum to see exhibits on historic and prehistoric Mesoamerica. 

After a fabulous day, we will return to the hotel to freshen up prior to heading out to dinner in downtown.  

After breakfast at the hotel, depart for the Coyoacan Neighborhood, famed as the most beautiful borough in Mexico City. This bohemian neighborhood is renowned for its cobbled streets and colonial architecture in addition to housing some unbelievable museums: we will visit museums with works of Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera. 

Later in the afternoon, travel by a brilliant colored boat along the ancient Xochimilco canals which have been declared a World Heritage Site and traverse an immense area of 170 square kilometers! 

This evening we will have dinner and see the spectacle of the La Llorana night show which recounts the pre-Hispanic story with musical accompaniment. We will return to the hotel and rest up for tomorrow - the Day of the Dead! 

Today, bask in the Day of the Dead festivities after breakfast at the hotel. 

At this time, the morning itinerary remains open awaiting the official announcement from the City government on plans for the Day of the Dead Parade. The parade in Mexico City is the largest in the world, and goes right down the Reforma Avenue on which sits our hotel! The parade has historically been held on Saturdays near the Day of the Dead - this year, Day of the Dead is on a Saturday, so cross your fingers! 

In the afternoon, head to the incredible Saumaya Museum. Itself an architectural masterpiece, the museum houses world-class art pieces from Dali, Rodin, van Gogh, Degas, and other European masters in addition to Mexican artists and some historical pieces over six museum levels. 

After dinner, return to the hotel for a good rest. 

Today focuses in and around the main square in central Mexico City, the Zocalo. Here, we will encounter beautiful colonial architecture built on top of the ceremonial center of the Aztec city of Tenochtitlan. We will take in the Metropolitan Cathedral, National Palace, Old City Hall, and the multitude of shops which border the largest plaza in Latin America (it can hold roughly 100,000 people!). 

Lunch and Dinner will both be in restaurants in the Zocalo neighborhood, but we will be returning a bit earlier to the hotel for a good rest as tomorrow morning Teotihuacan awaits!

Today we will depart the hotel for Teotihuacan where we will spend the majority of the day taking in the pre-Columbian, and Pre-Aztec, site. 

Teotihuacan covered an area of 21 square kilometers and is well known for its impressive structures such as the Pyramid of the Moon and the Pyramid of the Sun. As the sun climbs in the sky, we will take a break from the most impressive pyramids outside of Egypt to dive into caves.... to eat! We will visit La Gruta to eat some delicious food at tables placed inside of large caverns - this will be a meal to remember. 

In the afternoon and evening, there will be free time to rest or explore, but the group will come together for a farewell dinner in downtown to toast a wonderful journey. 

After breakfast, depart the hotel for the Mexico City International Airport for our journey back home with a new understanding and appreciation for Mexico City and its vibrant culture. It will also be evident that although we had seen so much and been exposed to so many wonderful sights, we will just have scratched the surface that the city has to offer - another trip anyone?
