The Mexico Roots trip is a 3-week immersion into the heart of Oaxaca — a city bursting with color, flavor, and tradition. From ancient Zapotec roots to vibrant markets and mezcal rituals, Oaxaca will awaken your senses.


This trip blends remote work, cultural exploration, and nature getaways — a true celebration of Mexico’s creative soul.

We’ll be based in Oaxaca City for the full duration, with weekend adventures that take us from waterfalls to artisan villages and sacred mountains.

Overview

This three-week journey, from Saturday, March 7 to Saturday, March 28, begins and ends in Oaxaca City, one of Mexico’s most colorful and culturally rich destinations. Known for its vibrant markets, traditional crafts, and world-famous cuisine, Oaxaca blends deep-rooted tradition with creative energy.

Our House

Our home is located in the heart of Oaxaca City, just steps away from cozy cafés, local restaurants, and gyms. The area is lively yet walkable — perfect for soaking in the city’s colors, sounds, and creative energy.

The house features a shared kitchen, bright open spaces, and common areas ideal for coworking and connecting.

Cancellation Policies

Your spot is secured with a $500 deposit — this officially holds your place while we bring the group together 
A trip is confirmed once we reach 6 members or 45 days before departure, whichever comes first.
If the trip does not reach the minimum number of travelers, you’ll receive a 100% refund.

  • Once the trip is confirmed, the $500 deposit becomes non-refundable. You’ll receive an email confirming the trip as soon as it’s officially locked in 

This allows us to confidently move forward with accommodations, logistics, and all the details that make the experience special.

Accomodation

You can choose between a Private Room with Ensuite Bathroom (bathroom inside) or a Private Room with Shared Bathroom (shared with one other room).

Wednesdays are for Family Dinners — we bring the ingredients, you bring the good vibes (and your inner chef!).

Hierve el Agua Tour

We do tours differently. We will visit Hierve el Agua, in an overnight trip, including a short hike, sky full of star and waking up for sunrrise.

Textile Tour

We will learn about Oaxacan world of textiles from local familes!

Arrival to Oaxaca

🔷 Saturday, March 7:

Arrival day! Check-in, start exploring the town, and end the day with a Welcome Dinner to meet the group.


🔷 Sunday, March 8:

We’ll begin the day with a traditional Oaxacan breakfast and the walking tour around town.

Our first week working remotely from Oaxaca, Mexico.
During the weekdays, we will have activities post-working hours around this vibrant town, including salsa classes, food tastings, and local outings.
We will also have skill-sharing sessions and family dinners within our group.

Hierve El Agua Tour Overnight

🔹 Saturday, March 14:

We’ll depart on Saturday, do a short hike , and arrive at our camp/cabañas site. At night, we’ll enjoy beautiful views of the stars and wake up to see Hierve el Agua at sunrise. This spot is usually quite popular, but doing it this way lets us experience it fully—without the usual tourist crowds.

🔹 Sunday, March 15:

We will be around midday and have the rest of the day to enjoy Oaxaca city.

March 16- March 20

We will continue working from beautiful Oaxaca, whether you choose to stay at our comfortable in-house coworking space or explore local coffee shops for inspiration.
The week will also be filled with optional post-working hour activities!

Textile Markets and Netflix Street Food Tour

🔹 Saturday, March 21: We’ll dive into Oaxaca’s vibrant world of textiles — visiting local artisans, learning about traditional weaving techniques, and seeing firsthand the colors and stories behind each piece.

🔹 Sunday, March 22: We’ll embark on a delicious food tour inspired by Netflix’s Street Food, tasting some of Oaxaca’s most iconic dishes and meeting the people behind them.

You’ll have plenty of free time to choose from a variety of optional activities — we’ll share lots of great recommendations so you can make the most of your time.

Our last week working from this amazing town! By now, we know you’ll have your favorites, so be sure to take full advantage of them.
We’ll continue offering amazing post-work activities to end on a high note.

🔹 Friday, March 27: Goodbye Ceremony and Farewell Party!


🔹 Saturday, March 28: Checkout day. Please remember that the trip ends in Oaxaca, so you'll need to coordinate your departure from there.

We have options with our Co-living Partners to extend your trip and spends some days/weeks in Puerto Escondido.
