About this trip

Explore Miami's rich Black heritage and cultural arts through immersive experiences in Little Haiti, Liberty City and Wynwood!

Our first stop is Little Haiti, the cultural heart of the Haitian diaspora. Waves of Haitian immigrants sought refuge here in the ‘80s. We’ll visit the colorful Little Haiti Cultural Center and the Caribbean Marketplace to experience a live Haitian dance and drum performance and chat with local vendors who sell authentic Haitian sculptures, clothing and other merchandise.

After a delicious lunch at a local authentic Caribbean restaurant, we head to the Liberty City/Brownsville area to visit the Historic Hampton House where many well-known Blacks such as Martin Luther King, Jr., Muhammad Ali and Malcolm X often visited and stayed since they were not welcomed in Miami Beach’s hotels.

Explore beautiful murals and local art galleries on a local expert guided tour of the Wynwood arts district.

The trip was cancelled at the last minute. I wasted my money on travel insurance and a cancelled flight.

Hi Carolyn, We truly apologize that you lost money from the trip cancellation. We do require a minimum to conduct a tour as we are working hard to market and secure bookings so that many can enjoy this very special experience we put our heart and soul into to amplify the Gullah Geechee history and culture. We would like to do something for your inconvenience to offset any costs you incurred due to our cancellation. Please email our Managing Director, Amit Ariel, at aariel@experienceblackculture.com so we can see how we can assist with any loss.
