Tending the Inner Fire

Join Rebecca Niziol for Midwinter Rest Retreat — a women’s yoga & healing retreat designed to invite deep rest, spaciousness, and the quiet that allows you to hear your own inner voice. 5 days/4 nights together on the Enchanted Lands of Taos, New Mexico.

For the woman who wants to pause the non-stop inner work, the outer striving, and revel in the beauty of winter’s still embrace.

You're invited to join us to slow down enough to discover: What happens when you stop doing, improving and trying to get it right and let yourself be and relax as you are?

Imagine waking slowly, without an alarm or anywhere you need to be. A gentle morning yoga practice, nourishing breakfast waiting for you, and nowhere to rush off to. An afternoon curled up by the fire with a book or journal, soaking in the sauna, napping peacefully or deep in conversation with a like-spirited woman.

No kids. No pets. No work. No meals to plan. No dishes to wash. Your phone is tucked away. Your inbox can wait. No one asking anything of you. No pressure to get anything done.

In the evening you melt into yin/restorative yoga, surrendering into that dreamy space between waking and sleep as 100 candles flicker around you. Or cozy up with others for an enchanting sound bath or yoga nidra experience that asks nothing of you except to receive.

Trade the constant doing for the deep exhale of not needing to do anything at all. Step away from the mental load of anticipating, producing, caring and holding everything together. Receive nourishment without needing to earn it. Let silence create space for your inner voice. Allow creativity to emerge without asking it to produce anything. Let yourself be held by the warmth of the fire, the land and a circle of women who are here to rest too.

Winter reminds us that rest is not the absence of growth. We, too, are allowed to slow down, soften and gather our energy for what comes next. Together, we’ll explore what becomes possible when we honor that same rhythm within ourselves.

A Space to Let Your Guard Down

So many of us move through the world carrying more than we realize: the mental load of anticipating needs, the constant vigilance of navigating a world shaped by patriarchy, the pressure to keep producing, caring, giving and holding everything together.

This winter, we’re creating something different.

A note from the heart: My intention is to create a retreat where you don’t have to work so hard to have a meaningful experience. I’ll create the container, tend the details and offer invitations for practice and connection—but there will also be plenty of room for you to simply be.

My hope is that you leave Taos not with a longer list of things to do or ways to improve yourself, but with more space inside you. More rested. More connected to your own inner voice. Perhaps a little more creatively alive. Maybe with a new friend or two. And feel steady fire within you that you can tend long after we leave the desert.

You'll be in good company.

Midwinter Rest Retreat is open to women and non-binary folks 21+, warmly welcomes LGBTQ+, all races & religions/spiritual practices. No prior retreat/yoga/meditation practice is necessary (however it is recommended!). All practices will be “all-levels,” and you’re encouraged to listen to your intuition and adapt as needed. Our group age tends to be mid 30s-mid 60s. And includes women from across the US typically.

You're welcome to attend solo OR come with a couple friends, a soul sister, family or loved ones. We usually have a mix of women who know each other and many who come knowing no one, yet. No cliques here.

Note: If you haven’t attended a retreat with Rebecca before OR attended at least 10 classes or workshops, please book a Connection Call, as we want to ensure this experience provides what you need, that intentions and expectations are aligned, and you’ll feel fully supported. This is also the perfect time to ask questions about the retreat!

Location & Amenities

Time slows down in Taos, the air is clean & crisp, the sun and stars are brighter. In the wide open spaces and majestic mountains there's room to fully unravel and expand. Come retreat to these spiritually charged lands filled with rich history and culture and reconnect with the quiet magic of life.

Sometimes we have to leave home, to find home within ourselves. Sometimes we must leave our family to connect to the soul family that awaits us.

Whether you'd like to write poetry looking out to the mountains or watch the sunset sipping tea around the firepit, visit the local shops or art galleries, soak with us in mineral rich hot springs or look up at star constellations in awe... there is no shortage beautiful spaces to relax, heal or be inspired by here.

Hyperslow Retreat Center  will be our retreat home base. It is located at the historic San Geronimo Lodge in Taos. Recently renovated and being restored by the new owners, they look forward to hosting us in the “Land of Enchantment”. (Fun fact for all you woo-woo women, the address is 1111 Witt Rd!).

During your stay for Midwinter Rest Retreat we'll have exclusive use of the property and full access to the amenities including: hot tub & sauna, fire pit & hammocks, tea room, lounge & library, walking path & labyrinth (pool is closed for the season)

Getting There: for those in the southwest region you're welcome to drive (aprox. 4.5 hour drive from Denver). Otherwise we recommend flying into Santa Fe (aprox. 90 minutes away) on Thursday Feb 11, by 1pm *OR* flying into Albuquerque (2 hr drive) by noon.

You are responsible for your own transportation to/from the venue. But we are happy to help coordinate rides/rental cars with other attendees or help connect you with a company we know/trust for shuttles or private car service to or from either airport.

Weather: Expect chilly mornings, sunny crisp afternoons and cold nights. Lows below freezing and highs usually in the high 40s during the winter.

Elevation: Taos is located in New Mexico's high desert mountains, at about 7,000 ft. If you're not used to higher elevation you're welcome to fly in to Santa Fe a day early to "acclimate". We will also provide electrolytes and plenty of water for you.

Want to extend your stay? We've arranged for reduced room rates for any retreaters to arrive a day early or stay an extra night at the end. Please reach out if you'd like to book extra nights so I connect you with the venue to reserve that.

Your Host: Rebecca Niziol

Rebecca Niziol has taught yoga to the U.S. Men’s National Soccer Team, guided over two thousand people in meditation at Wanderlust Yoga Festival, and led practices everywhere from hospitals and paddleboards to skyscrapers and rooftops—for teens in correctional facilities to billionaires on private islands. She has been teaching yoga for 15 years, focusing on helping people cultivate a deeper connection to themselves, their joy, and each other.

Rebecca discovered meditation as a child to soothe anxiety, yoga to rebalance after injuries as a professional dancer, and the power of intentional community in healing heartbreak and illness. She now brings this blend of healing, depth, and joy into her coaching, classes, and events.

Rebecca specializes in creative vinyasa flow, yin/restorative, slow flow and gentle yoga along with meditation. She teaches weekly in Denver at Samadhi, Life Time Cherry Creek, and Canopy Yoga. She is also a certified professional life coach, focused on supporting women through transitions and challenging seasons of life.

She lives in Denver, enjoying being active, outdoors and consuming lots of carbs in her off time with her partner and their hilarious pups, Pip & Bear.

Midwinter Rest is Rebecca's 14th retreat! In the past women have met their new business partner, best friend or long term soul sisters. On a retreat with Rebecca you can count on these 4 pillars:

1) Connection with Self

2) Connection with Soul  (Intuition, Divine, God, Spirit)

3) Connection to the Land/Earth & local community/culture

4) Connection to One Another (the other amazing women!)
