Mikumi is a gem and perfect for a day safari. It is easily accessible from Dar es Salaam. Mikumi has a variety of landscapes savannahs, waterholes, and hills. Mikumi is home to elephants, giraffes, hippos, buffalos, zebras, wildebeest, lions, leopards, and a huge variety of birds.

Your journey begins with an early morning arrival at Dar es Salaam SGR Station at 5:15am. (Please note: passengers arriving later than 20 minutes before departure will not be permitted to travel.)

At 6:00am, you will depart Dar es Salaam aboard the SGR train, enjoying a comfortable and scenic journey to Morogoro. Arrival in Morogoro is at 7:40am, where our professional driver-guide will be waiting to transfer you to Mikumi National Park.

You will arrive at Mikumi at approximately 9:30–10:00am, and your safari adventure begins!

Mikumi is renowned for its open plains and abundant wildlife. During your game drive, you may encounter zebra, giraffe, elephant, lion, warthog, various antelope species, a wide variety of birdlife, hippos, and—if you are fortunate—the elusive leopard.

Lunch will be served at a hotel located inside the park at a time arranged with your guide. After enjoying your meal and some time to relax, you will continue your afternoon game drive, taking in the breathtaking landscapes and rich wildlife of the African savannah.

At 4:30pm, you will depart the park and return to Morogoro Railway Station. The 7:25pm SGR train will take you back to Dar es Salaam, arriving at approximately 9:10pm, marking the end of your memorable safari experience.
