About this trip

We had a great time! The bus was on time and comfortable. Vikki was very accommodating and helpful. We had one issue with our group not being together and she fixed it. The food was wonderful (as always at Shady Maple) and the show was fantastic!

The museum is filled with wonderful Brosdway memories...pictures, amazing costumes, knowledgeable staff. Be prepared to climb stairs..restrooms are in basement, self-guided tour begins on 3rd floor.  Wish we'd had it to ourselves, however, they schedule groups of 15 almost back-to-back, so it got a little congested at times, making picture taking difficult. Overall, a very good trip.

I had a wonderful spring excursion going to the Philadelphia Flower Show.  There were many buses there so the show was quite crowded, but we escaped to the Reading Terminal Market which was a great dining experience and a short walk right across the street. The sights, the smells, the beauty of the displays were well worth a visit.  I am hoping to go on other trips with Garden State Getaways because the pickup points are so convenient.  Thank you, Kathy, for toting that umbrella to guide us to the right bus-we have our own Mary Poppins leading the way for us:)

.  We are booking another trip - we just want to thank you for the awesome trip yesterday "Beautiful Noise"  The play itself was phenomenal.  We went on U-tube last night and watched the film several times of Neil Diamond appearing on the Opening Night.  Secondly, the trip was so well planned and executed. The only suggestion to be made concerns safety issues. It should be announced on the bus at the beginning of the trip that the bus is equipped with seatbelts and the location of the safety hatches  in case of an emergency (the same routine as is used on an airline flight). The trip and the experience deserves the highest rating.

Radio City Christmas Spectacular starring the Rockettes and Lunch

I would like to thank you taking the time to provide us with feedback.  The city in December can be very tricky to navigate and often encounter the unexpected. Some of the streets that morning were closed due to traffic backups and the police were not allowing buses to go down some streets including the street our restaurant was on, unfortunately.  We try hard to provide transportation as much as possible but sometimes traffic flow is out of our control.  Leaving any earlier would not have prevented the amount of traffic in the city in December.  I apologize that the amount of walking turned out to be more than you may have  expected and am sorry for the inconvenience.  I am glad you were able to enjoy the show.  We try and provide trips that everyone can enjoy and do our very best to accommadate.

First, Faith and Vicki are great and are appreciated. They are wonderful, hard-working people who deserve to succeed. But you asked for a description of "this trip" for us. Here's mine. (I am sure other trips are fine.) For us however, we had a very bad time because my wife Carol as you may recall cannot walk more than a few feet at a time without stopping, and very slowly at that. We booked this because we were counting on the bus dropping us off at the restaurant, and then at RCMH. (We had planned to get a cab from lunch to RCMH, so we were delighted that arrangements were made to get us there. That attempt was much appreciated.) Yes, we were late due to traffic, but we still COULD have made it both to the restaurant and to RCMH. We did not because as it turned out your "LEAVE ON TIME" rules, clearly stated several times on the itinerary, were ignored. That was convenient for 2 people (I think that's why we left late), but it inconvenienced dozens who, at best, ended up with a stressful situation and who missed the first act.  For my wife however (and you won't find her complaining because this is the kind of stuff that we live with), it was much more than mere inconvenience. The two blocks or so to lunch were sheer torture, and the shorter walk to RCMH was too. Basically, it ruined her day although for her, the show was great as usual. All this COULD and SHOULD have been avoided easily, by leaving the 3rd pickup site on time. Sure, maybe those we waited for had a good excuse for being late. I apologize if that was the case (but I'd bet they didn't). In any event, THEY WERE LATE, and it threw the rest of the timing off. As this unfolded, if you do the math, that extra 20-25 minutes was the difference. SUGGESTIONS: (1) Leave earlier. Start at 8:30, not 9 am, for example. And again, (2) Leave the pickup spots on time. There were ample warnings that you would do so. Yes, you sure can say that it was our mistake, given her issues, to book this trip in the first place. But we simply didn't think things would go downhill like that for us. People who have her kinds of issues do have the right though to at least try to enjoy themselves. (No one wants any sympathy; it's just a simple opinion. And plenty of people don't agree with that, by the way.) Sometimes, it doesn't work out. But this time, respectfully, I think the numbers indicated that it could have. Anyway, thanks for listening (I hope you will), and good luck. Tony

We had a great time traveling to Longwood Gardens. Food at the Tavern was good. Bus driver was very pleasant and looked out for us. Faith had everything under control and trip went smoothly. The Gardens were beautiful and we all enjoyed the trip very much.

Trip was well organized   . Food was delicious  and served  hot and large portions. . Bus driver was a plus , he gave us a little history and other info on the area.  Was great to have a tour guide enjoyed her knowledge  and other commentary..

Brooklyn Lights

Our trip to Radio City Christmas Spectacular was indeed spectacular itself! Faith did above and beyond what we expected. She was friendly, knowledgeable and took care of every detail. The bus ride was comfortable and fun. Faith provided snacks, played games, and even awarded prizes.  We met many nice people and enjoyed a delicious lunch. We had just enough time after the show to walk around the city and enjoy the sights. (Faith provided us with a map and suggestions.) Finally, what a pleasure tit was to sit in a nice warm bus, relax and watch a Christmas movie on the way home!

Trip was fantastic as are all trips with Faith. Thanks for a great and seamless day.

The trip to Mt. Hope Mansion was a very fun time. That they served vegan meatballs was a big plus.  I liked that they had tea and coffee service set up to help ourselves as desired.  The caramel popcorn they served was delicious.  The salad was excellent and the peppermint schnapps with white chocolate served at the end of the meal was such a welcome touch.  The mansion was decorated exquisitely, and the voices of the theatrical group were melodic and put us all in a festive mood.  I liked how we were able to walk around freely to see all the rooms and the interaction of the cast as we were dining kept us all amused.  After the meal and play we were able to go to the wine store and taste wine and local Pennsylvania ciders.  I bought some cranberry cider to enjoy at home with my family. As I drink it, I will fondly remember the good time I had with this group.  Kudos to our driver and Cathi our tour guide who kept us all feeling safe and comfortable. 

We had a great time, the Omni Mount Washington, settled in the White Mountains of New Hampshire was a breath taking
enjoyment, not to mention the hotel, the room, or the delicious foods. We also enjoyed our lunch dining with Mr. & Mrs. Santa Claus.  Good bus driver and excellent trip guide. Faith has picked a very nice place.


White Christmas at the Omni Mount Washington Hotel

We had a GREAT day thanks to Faith and Garden State Getaways.   The Christmas show was SPECTACULAR !!  We had great seats and could see and hear everything perfectly.  Our lunch was delicious, and we appreciated the time to see the tree at Rockefeller Center and the other exhibits.  Thanks to Faith we had a very enjoyable bus ride to and from NYC with that wacky sense of humor of hers.  And, of course, will never forget her joke about "Reading between the lions" when we passed the entrance to the New York Public Library with its stone lions out in front !!  And it was great seeing Eddie, our driver, again who did an amazing job getting us thru all the madness that is NYC traffic, especially at this time of year.  Thank you Faith, and Eddie, very much.  We will be traveling with you soon.  

This trip was a great getaway to Old Town Alexandria and the Gaylord Resort at National Harbor.  Gadsby's Tavern in Old Town knew how to handle a crowd with excellent service and food.  My time in National Harbor was as delightful as I had hoped.  I gleefully went down the ice slide and enjoyed the sights from the Big Wheel.  The Christmas tree laser show was outstanding!
Going to the Botannical Gardens was wonderful and I got to walk the whole mall on a gorgeous day.  Seeing the Washington Monument and other sights was truly special.  Thanks to our driver for riding around to see more night-time lights and sights.
On our way home, we stopped at the Inner Harbor for lunch at Phillip's seafood and an unexpected surprise-the German Christkindl market at the harbor.  I only wish that we were dropped off at the Christmas market first and had our seafood lunch after shopping!  Many people who wanted to shop at the market could not get there after lunch.  The food was excellent at Phillip's but many of us barely touched our food.  If we had shopped first, I feel we would have enjoyed the meal more.
Thanks to Faith and Vicky, our tour guides who were good natured and helpful. 

Christmas on the Potomac Gaylord National Resort and Alexandria

Everything was great,  the .ride to and from and the food was really delicious.  The Philly Pops was exceptional.
I would recommend this or similar trip.
I hope the Philly Pops come me back next year.  The musicians were wonderful.

EXPERIENCE THE HOLIDAYS IN PHILADELPHIA Philly Pops Concert, Comcast

Even though the weather was ugly, our trip was wonderful. An enjoyable meal and a spectacular show by the pops. The driving had to be tough in that rain but we had Eddie at the helm to carry us safely.

We had a great time. It was well organized, excellent meal options and accommodations.  There was plenty of activities and sightseeing options.  We also appreciated having enough "time on our own" to see the town.

 Your trips never disappoint. Always reliable and the restaurants are always great. Always on time and wonderful

One negative our seats at the Philly Pops Concert were behind a cameraman who blocked the view of the orchestra & the two main singers. Faith gave us different seats but those were behind people who were in regular chairs at the railing & the view of the stage again blocked. I stood the whole second half of the show so that I was able to see some of went on on stage. Very disappointing since that was my first trip there!




My sister and I had the pleasure of booking a trip with Garden State Travels for the Christmas on the Potomac, we can’t  say enough good things about our recent trip. The Gaylord hotel was beautiful and comfortable. Our tour guides on our trip were Faith, Vickie and our wonderful bus driver Eddie. They were very organized and went out of their way to ensure everyone’s needs were accomodated.  We also had a great time with all the passengers on the bus, such a great group of people. We will definitely be booking more trips with “Garden State Getaways” Thank you again Faith, Vickie and Eddie for making it such a magical time for us.

It was a wonderful day! The theater, luncheon and show were all A+. As always, the bus was comfortable and part of the fun. In spite of challenging weather conditions, our drive, Tom, handled every situation professionally and safely. Garden State Getaways is our go-to company for great adventures.

The hotel was magnificent!  Very comfortable room, excellent dining, attentive staff. Scheduled activities were ok, nothing over the top. My favorite was the hotel tour.  Cog railroad, underwhelming.  Carriage ride, fun but too short. Private lunch with Santa fun, but piano player was in another room and we couldn't hear him.

Great trip. Actually, better than expected, Faith runs the best and most organized bus trips in the area! Definitely will sign up for more!

I had a wonderful time as usual   Faith  you, Cathy and eddie are a great team    My only suggestion is to leave Tn earlier, cut the shopping short,    Less time on the bus   Friday    I will be traveling with you again 

I had a wonderful time.  Trip was well organized and people were friendly.  Accommodations were good and so was the food.  Thanks for the extra help you gave me.

The trip was very enjoyable and well organized with very nice accommodations.   Our fellow tourists were a good group of people, everyone got along and was cooperative.  As to the trip itself, there were a few things that I would have liked changed, but they are personal to me; they may not reflect the group's opinion.

I would have preferred less shopping and more sightseeing.  Three hours of shopping on Thursday morning was a little too much.  I can shop on line.  If shopping were eliminated or cut back, we could possibly have arrived home earlier, with shorter times on the bus and longer breaks.  For example, if we left Tennessee at 9:00 AM, we could have stopped that evening at around 5:30 and still have time for breaks and lunch.  After the overnight stop, we could possibly have been home between 5:00-6:00 - barring traffic. It's a wonderful bus, but it's still a bus.

Dollywood was a delightful surprise and it would have been nice to spend more time there.  On the other hand, I felt that Anakeesta and the Country Time show were a waste of time.  Either do Anakeesta or Gatlinberg - not both.  

The Hatfield and McCoy show was well done and showed some talented people, but if felt a little rushed.   I felt that we arrived the last minute, but the service was good.  The couple who entertained at the hotel barbeque on our last evening were one of the most enjoyable parts of the trip.

Please do not see these comments as a criticism.  I realize that everyone has different tastes and preferences.  This is just my personal reaction  


Amazing fall foliage, glad I went, as I celebrated my upcoming 60th birthday with new friends,  we visited cool fun places. We lived, we laughed, we traveled .  What a year for me Alaska, Mackinaw Island and the cherry 🍒  on the top Great Smokey Mountains.   Faith, Cathi and Eddie, a great group to make memories with. T Y Garden State Getaways. The trip was planned perfectly to view the fall foliage in N. England.  The hotel accommodations were both scenic and comfortable.  The train rides through the woods brought us even closer through the foliage.  Our on-board bus tour guide, Cathi, was friendly and helpful.  The tour guides in MA, VT, ME and NH were knowledgeable, and told interesting stories about their states and its history.  The biggest disappointment was the turkey dinner train ride.  Mine/ours was the last table served.  They ran out of turkey and were "borrowing" carcass leftovers from the other train cars.  This made for a 15-20 minute wait while everyone else was served.  When we were finally served, the food was barely lukewarm.  The lump of turkey I received, salvaged from the carcasses, was filled with grizzle and mostly inedible.  Trying to saw into the meat with the plastic knife resulted in the rest of the food turning cold.  The servers were noticeably upset and apologetic, but I paid for a cold, unappetizing dinner.      

Fabulous Rails and Sails Fall Excursion of New England

The trip was lovely with beautiful fall foliage. I enjoyed the views very much.
I thought that too much food was included on the trip on some of the days, particularly where breakfast, lunch and dinner were included on the same day.
A number of people came home from the trip with Covid, myself included. I wore a mask on the bus at all times and had recently (2 weeks prior) received the latest booster. I understand a man on the back of the bus was coughing right at the beginning of the trip and was not masked. As time went on, more and more people were coughing, including our bus driver. 
I understand how people feel about masks at this time but perhaps more can be done by the group leader such as stressing the importance of keeping those around you safe if you are experiencing symptoms up to and including addressing the person directly who is experiencing those symptoms and encouraging mask wearing. I am still not 100% well and I believe it will be some time before I get back to my usual health.
