Movement + Conservation | Costa Rica
May 14–18, 2027
This is a week living aboard a working conservation vessel.
You will move, train, and live alongside the crew of Earthrace Conservation, supporting real ocean and jungle patrols in Costa Rica.
Cabins are simple.
Most bathrooms are shared.
Space is close.
And that is exactly what makes this experience what it is.
Not because it is comfortable.
Because it is rare.
Because it is real.
Because you do not get many chances in life to say:
“I lived on a conservation ship in Costa Rica for a week and was part of something that actually mattered.”
You will slow down.
Your body will start to regulate instead of push.
You will move in a way that feels good again, not forced, not performative.
You will spend your days outside, in the ocean, in the jungle, in the sun.
You will connect with people quickly because there is no hiding behind routine or comfort.
And at some point, something shifts.
You feel clearer.
Lighter.
More like yourself again.
This is not a resort.
This is not polished.
This is not private, quiet luxury.
If you need perfect sleep, full privacy, and guaranteed comfort, this will likely feel uncomfortable.
Simple.
Connected.
Alive.
You will wake up with the ocean.
You will move daily through intentional, nervous system led training.
You will eat, rest, and reset in a completely different rhythm than your normal life.
You will not leave talking about the room.
You will leave talking about what you experienced.
Modoc is a working vessel.
Cabins are compact and designed for function.
Most guests share bathrooms.
You will spend very little time in your room.
Life happens outside, on deck, in the water, in conversation, and in the experience itself.
The closeness of the space is what creates the connection.
There is no disappearing here.
You are in it together.
Every booking directly supports the work of Earthrace Conservation.
This includes active patrols focused on marine conservation, jungle protection, and environmental impact.
You are not observing this work.
You are helping make it possible.
This is for you if:
• you value experience over luxury
• you are open, grounded, and a little adventurous
• you want to move your body in a way that actually feels good
• you are drawn to the ocean, nature, and purpose
• you want something meaningful, not just a getaway
If you need a guaranteed private bathroom or prioritize comfort above all else, this may not be the right fit.
All accommodations are simple and part of life on a working vessel.
You will choose between:
Immersive Experience
Shared cabins and shared bathrooms, fully connected to the rhythm of the ship.
Private Cabins (Limited)
More space and privacy, with the same overall experience.
Most cabins share bathrooms.
We are actively working on adding additional bathroom space onboard, but because Modoc is a conservation vessel, resources are often directed toward patrols and mission work first.
Some spaces may be updated before May 2027, but this cannot be guaranteed.
We prefer to be clear about that upfront so you can choose this experience fully informed.
Most people do.
We thoughtfully pair shared cabins and create an environment that feels easy to step into, even if you do not know anyone beforehand.
If you are looking for a luxury retreat, this is not it.
If you are looking for something you will remember for the rest of your life, this might be exactly it.
Space is limited simply because the boat is.
If this is pulling at you, trust that.
