About your trip

Big skies, cultural festivities and wide-open adventure is what our Mongolia trip is all about. On this trip, we’l gallop with nomadic families across emerald steppes, look up at the same cerulean skies as the ancient  Genghis Khan’s. We’ll swap stories with eagle hunters over steaming bowls of horse milk tea (yum!). In Mongolia, adventure isn’t found, it’s lived. Join us at one of the world’s wildest festivals, the Golden Eagle Festival, in a truly epic setting.

A Day Of Service

After brekky, we’ll head on our private bus to our partner community where we’re funding the new running water and toilets.
We’ll have a tour of the real side of Mongolia, that tourists don’t get to visit. And we’ll witness the amazing work our partner NGO is doing here. As well as, of course, seeing the actual projects we’ve funded. Responsible tourism in action. Thank you everyone.

Day 3

Day 3 image

Flying to Olgi

After what is often an emotional day at our projects, it’s time to begin to explore Mongolia. Today we make our way to the far west of the country in preparation for one of the coolest festivals on earth - the Golden Eagle Festival. It's a chartered plane we have so depending on the flight time we'll have an easy morning in the capital or an easy afternoon in Olgi.

Day 4

Eagle Festival

THE MAIN EVENT. A real bucket list day. Our adventure begins with the awe-inspiring opening ceremony, featuring a procession of eagle hunters clad in their finest traditional Kazakh attire, setting the stage for what’s to come.
The first day is packed with competitions showcasing the hunters’ symbiotic relationship with their eagles, highlighting eagle calling and the artistry of hunting techniques against the backdrop of Mongolia’s stunning landscape.

Day 5

Eagle Festival

The excitement builds on the second day, focusing on the eagles’ agility and speed, as they dive at incredible speeds to catch bait on command.
Between events, we’ll be deep in authentic Kazakh culture through folk music, dance performances, and storytelling sessions. We’ll hit up the nomadic ger tents for a glimpse into traditional living.
The festival concludes with a grand award ceremony, honoring the eagle hunters’ dedication and skill, leaving you with memories of Mongolia’s rich heritage and the majestic beauty of its eagles.

Day 6

National Parks

Today we'll explore some of the amazing national parks this country has to offer. Depending on how our private flights work there's two variations of the national parks. One option we stay in the countries west and explore the Altai Tavan Bogd National Park, the other has us heading back to central Mongolia and venturing to Gorkhi-Terelj National Park.
