There are places that make it easier to hear yourself think.
Hidden deep in the Montana mountains, Canyon Creek Guest Ranch isn't the kind of place you accidentally stumble upon.
Getting there requires nearly twenty miles of dirt road and an old logging trail that winds its way into the backcountry. That's exactly why we chose it. This is a guest mountain ranch where life slows down, cell service disappears, and something inside you begins to wake up.
Over four days together, we'll experience Montana the way it was meant to be experienced. We'll ride horses, hike even deeper into the mountains, cast a line into cold mountain water, and cool off with river plunges after long days outside. Midway through the trip, we'll shoulder our packs and hike five miles into the wilderness, climbing roughly 1,200 feet to Crescent Lake. There, we'll spend the night under the stars around a campfire before hiking back to the ranch the following day.
This trip is about stepping into an environment that reminds us of who we are when life gets simple again. Honest work. Fresh mountain air. Shared challenge. Good conversations around a fire. The kind of experience that strips away the noise and leaves you feeling more grounded, more alive, and grateful for the men standing beside you.
Enjoy a wonderfully prepared, home cooked meal as a group.
After dinner, we'll sit out by the fire and enjoy good conversation together.
Home cooked group meal with a strong cup of coffee for the day ahead!
After gathering for a group breakfast at the guest ranch, we’ll lace up our boots and begin our journey to Crescent Lake. Today’s walk will cover approximately 5 miles, 1200 feet of elevation gain and take around 2.5 hours. We'll set up camp and take time to explore the area. Take a cold dip or cast a line and catch trout!
Together we'll make dinner over the open fire and dig into Personal Balance Sheet conversations.
With the lake to ourselves, we can fish, swim, explore or do whatever is needed to slow down and unwind. An unhurried afternoon and evening in the mountains and under the stars!
Coffee and breakfast over an open fire.
After breakfast and coffee over the fire, we’ll make our way back to the ranch. Same hike as the previous day, retracing our steps covering 5 miles and dropping 1,200 feet back down the mountain. This will take us about 2 hours.
Back at the guest ranch, we'll enjoy a well earned meal. Afternoon has ample time to unwind (jump in the cold river!). We'll try our hands at a wrangling activity to see who will be crowned the most talented cowboy!
We'll also spend time learning how to tie a fly to use for fly fishing.
Personal balance sheet conversations and a group dinner at night. Campfire and conversation after the sun goes down.
The drive back to Bozeman will take approximately 2.5 hours so plan your flights accordingly. Do not book a flight before 11am.
