Taking place in France and Italy, this small group Montessori Méditerranée & Italy Experience, created by Montessori Tours and Travel, will explore Dr. Maria Montessori’s philosophy, walk in Montessori’s footsteps, and culminate in something rarely offered: the chance to live the Montessori life yourself, in an environment prepared not for the child, but for the adult.

Just as the child concentrates and flourishes in a carefully prepared environment, so too does the adult.

Working daily with the mind, heart and hands, free of distraction and at a human pace, you rediscover what humans have always known how to do: purposeful work, work of the hands, mindful work.

This Montessori Méditerranée & Italy Experience unfolds in three movements, each offering a different way of encountering Montessori.

Movement 1 - Live and learn together in the Montessori Maison in Provence France, exploring Montessori thought within a prepared environment for adults.

Movement 2 - Experience the places in Rome, Italy where Maria Montessori studied, worked and developed the ideas that would travel around the world.

Movement 3 - Slow down in the mountain village of Decontra in Abruzzo Italy. Work with the hands, connect with nature and community, and experience a prepared environment for the adult.

Professional study is woven together with history, landscape, food, culture, handwork, conversation and time to observe.

Designed by Montessori Tours and Travel for Montessori educators, leaders and others interested in experiencing Montessori philosophy through place, history, culture and community. The Montessori Méditerranée & Italy Experience is for Montessori people who want to go deeper.
