Come to Costa Rica with us and enjoy a tropical, relaxing paradise filled with a range of yoga & pilates classes and experiences. Recharge your soul with some down time and good company. We've taken care of the details so you can let go of your worries and have a good time.
✨ Your adventure awaits! This trip can be as packed or relaxed as you want—some, all or no yoga classes, to every excursion or just chillin' by the pool. It's up to you. We've created a fun plan and you can choose how involved you'd like to be.
Set by the beach, amid the beauty of Costa Rica’s Southern Pacific coast, El Nido Uvita — The Nest — is the place to reconnect to your human self, feel the Costa Rica life, and reset your soul.
There's something for everyone:
The Beach: Just a 5-minute walk from their boutique hotel and retreat center, Marino Ballena National Park and the Whale’s Tail beach await (the secret non-tourist entrance. Shh.) Golden sands, tide pools, and Pacific waves invite you to stroll, swim, and soak in the warm waters.
The Yoga: Some like it hot, some do not. Their acclimitized yoga room fits up to 25 mats and is designed to be a purposeful space for wellness modalities. Equipped with Far Infrared Heaters for Hot Yoga fans, A/C for breathwork or sound healing, and screens for when you want to connect and be bug free. Eco-rubber flooring, high teak ceilings, mirrors, headset mics, speakers and ceiling fans as well.
The Pool: Their palm-fringed pool invites you to start or end your day with a refreshing dip. Warmed by the sun and ready for you to relax day or night. Float in stillness, cool off after yoga, or swim beneath the stars, a serene space to connect and unwind.
The Food: They partner with local chefs who craft fresh, nourishing meals— from traditional Costa Rican dishes to plant-based cuisine.
The Adventures: Costa Rica is pure magic and we help you explore it. From ziplining and waterfall hikes to surf lessons and wildlife tours, their local partners curate unforgettable adventures balanced with ease. Options for all budgets from $4 waterfall visits to private picnics on the beach.
The Whale Tail Walk: Known locally as Cola de la Ballena, this sandbar emerges only at low tide, allowing visitors to literally walk a half-mile out into the Pacific Ocean on a whale-shaped tail. [1, 2, 3]
Nauyaca Waterfall
Arguably Costa Rica’s most spectacular multi-tiered cascade. Located roughly 30 minutes north near Dominical, a steep jungle trail or a 4x4 shuttle brings you to two massive tiers of rushing water that pour into a deep, turquoise swimming pool. [1, 2, 3, 4]

About Angela
Angela is our Co-Owner & Co-Director. She teaches Bikram Yoga, Inferno Hot Pilates, Vinyasa & Yin yoga. She started practicing Bikram Yoga in 2006. After a fall from a horse in 2003, a fractured spine and continued chronic back pain she finally found a yoga practice that helped her heal from the inside out.
She bought the West Linn studio in 2012 after having managed it for the year prior and then built and launched a new studio in Happy Valley studio in 2014. In 2017, Ryan and Angela bought the former “I Am Yoga” studio on Alberta street just after Ryan had just been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer (now in remission!). In 2021 they closed West Linn & Happy Valley due to the pandemic.
They were blessed with the birth of their son in 2022 and enjoy having a family owned and run business. They are grateful for the opportunity to serve many people looking for health, wellness & peace of mind.
We all go into the yoga room looking for something. It only takes a few minutes to change our mind, life and attitude. Yoga & movement is our medicine!
I hope to see you soon.
Angela

About Colin
Hi! I’m Colin. I have over 12 years of teaching experience including group classes, retreats, teacher trainings, and leading advanced workshops on anatomy, voice and human movement patterns. I am passionate about applying the wisdom and tradition of yoga to unlock the body, quiet the mind and connect to higher consciousness. Through breath, alignment and mindful movement we can release what no longer serves us and invite in strength, balance and joy. I design yoga sequences specifically targeted to ignite the healing process. Through discovery of the places inside the body where emotions and energy are stockpiled, we provide ourselves the opportunity to honor and let go of the past and create a lighter sense of being in the present. I am fascinated by the mirror of the subtle body and how it reflects the physical body. The interplay of the two bodies inspires my teaching style and affords me great compassion for my students and the world around me. I work to empower my students to hone their own skills in various breath, inversion and back-bending practices. Whether this is your first time on the mat or you are an experienced yogi, I look forward to helping you grow your practice and strengthen your sense of self.

About Gabriela
Hi! My name is Gabriela! I have been practicing all kinds of movement and exercise modalities for the last 15 years. It started as something I was doing just to lose weight after having my youngest. I quickly started to see the benefits of it expand to my mental and emotional health. The more I moved and got strong the healthier and happy I became. I wanted to learn more about fitness. I took personal training courses and started reading and learning from people that inspired me. I eventually found my way to Forge. A friend of mine invited me to a free class. I had no idea I was signing up for a Bikram class! Little did I know this would be one of those life changing moments. After one class I was hooked. Bikram was a great alternate to the strength training I was doing. Pretty earlier on I also took an IHP class. I loved it too! I continued to attend Forge classes, I feel in love with the community and great teachers. I realized I wanted to help people find the same thing I did. I wanted to help others feel strong and confident not only in their bodies but in their minds as well. I attended the IHP teacher training and shortly after started teaching at Forge. This was 6 years ago now. In that time I fell in love with Vinyasa yoga. Forge offered a Teacher training and I knew this was something I wanted to offer others. Along with helping them get physically strong, I know Vinyasa builds a strong mind and spirit. It has given me the opportunity to find stillness from all the noise that surrounds our daily lives. I feel it myself and see it in the wonderful souls that come to class week over week. It helps me focus and stay grounded. It’s one of those things I know I will do for the rest of my life and I look forward to continuing to share it with others for many years to come.

We created Forge to reshape the culture around yoga. As former Bikram Yoga Studio owners, along with collective experiences elsewhere in the yoga community, we saw a need to create a safe, inclusive, fun, diverse, and welcoming environment. Forge literally means “to reshape with heat.” So, we “forged” together these healthy practices so they can be available to anybody that wants to try it — all under one hot roof.
Forge’s commitment to the community goes beyond our studio walls. We pay it forward as often as we can, giving back to our roots, supporting our collective, and forging new relationships everywhere we go.
