Standing Tall taught us the strength to remain. Moving Forward invites us to discover the courage to advance.
There are seasons when resilience, faith, and courage ask us to stand our ground—to remain when everything around us is trying to move us.
But there are other seasons when that same resilience, faith, and courage ask us to take the next step.
To walk.
To advance.
To ask ourselves:
What’s next?
Moving Forward is an 9-day transformational journey through South Africa designed around resilience, courage, wisdom, movement, and faith.
Through the extraordinary landscapes and wildlife of Africa, we will explore one of life's most important lessons:
When do I stand? When do I wait? When do I walk? When do I run? And when is it time to move forward?
Just as nature moves through seasons—winter, spring, summer, and fall—we also experience seasons in our lives and in our spiritual journey.
There are seasons when God calls us to stand. To remain. To hold our ground. To trust when nothing seems to be moving.
But there are also seasons when faith requires movement.
Moving Forward is an invitation to recognize the season you are in and intentionally reflect on the areas of your life that may be calling for movement.
In the animal kingdom, movement is essential. Animals recognize changing seasons. They know when to remain, when to migrate, when to walk, when to run, and when survival and growth require them to move beyond familiar territory.
There is wisdom in knowing when to stay—and wisdom in knowing when it is time to move.
Throughout this retreat, we will use the powerful metaphors found in the African wilderness to look inward at our own lives.
Where have I remained because God asked me to stand?
Where have I remained simply because I became comfortable?
What season am I in now?
What needs movement?
What is my next step?
And do I have the courage and faith to take it?
South Africa is intentional. The safari is more than something to experience—it becomes a place of observation, reflection, and transformation. The animal kingdom becomes a living metaphor through which we explore resilience, instinct, timing, purpose, community, movement, and the wisdom to recognize our own seasons.
Standing Tall taught us that sometimes strength means remaining.
Moving Forward reminds us that sometimes strength means taking the step.
Because growth requires us to understand our seasons.
And sometimes, the very faith that once told us to stand is the faith that now tells us:
Move.
🐘 THE ELEPHANT — FROM STANDING TALL TO MOVING FORWARD
Our journey with the elephant continues.
In Thailand, the gentle giant taught us that true strength does not need to prove itself.
The elephant doesn't have to show that it is strong. It simply is.
Standing Tall invited us to recognize that same quiet strength within ourselves.
In South Africa, we take the lesson one step further.
Now that you know your strength, what will you do with it?
Sometimes strength requires us to remain.
Sometimes strength requires us to move.
The safari becomes our classroom.
In the wild, every animal has its own purpose, rhythm, instinct, and way of moving.
Some wait.
Some walk.
Some run.
Some move alone.
Others move with the protection of the herd.
They don't all move the same way because they weren't all created for the same purpose.
Neither were we.
Through observation and guided reflection, we explore what the wild can teach us about timing, purpose, courage, community, movement, and discernment.
Movement without wisdom is simply motion.
Moving Forward cannot remain an idea.
Eventually, we have to take the step.
Our signature Walk the Walk Experience combines movement, reflection, faith, and intentional decision-making as we examine the steps we know we need to take in our own lives.
What have you been thinking about but not doing?
Where have you been standing when it may be time to walk?
And what would happen if you finally took the next step?
