Our adventure takes us to the town of El Triunfo, once the most populated community in the region due to its rich gold and silver mines. It was a cultural center and the first town in the area to have electricity and telephones. An amazing relic of local history. The town features two museums: the Museo de Plata, which highlights its mining history, and the Vaqueros de Los Californias, which shares important stories about the origins of cowboy and ranchera culture in the region. You will discover that many of the founding cowboy families of the Californias have deep connections to Baja California Sur.
Both museums are extremely informative and enlightening. Baja California Sur played a big role on the world stage for both mining and cattle rearing. Find out who introduced the world to the ukelele!
From October 15 - December 15, add-on the Journey of the Baby Sea Turtles tour for an additional $55.00 USD per person.
