You can expect to

- taste different locally brewed alcohol

- watch local alcohol brewing and/or tour a boutique brandy distillery

- learn about the history and uses of local alcohol

There will be different ways to participate in local village life and its culture. The exact experiences will depend on what is happening in the village. Previous trips have experienced:

- participating in a local Buddhist festival

- watching a local archery tournament

- participating in garden harvest and planting

- dance lessons

- learning about traditional archery history and techniques

- playing with local kids

We will venture up to a local yak herder camp, and spend time with them understanding their life and culture.

Expect to learn about the local flora and fauna, mountain geography, and yaks. This nomadic aspect of Himalayan mountain cultures are part of trans-Himalayan communities for thousands of years.

You can expect to 

- see stunning mountain panoramas

- learn about the local mountains and their histories

- go searching for fossils

- learn about local flora and fauna

- learn about the history hidden in nearby caves

- learn about how the weather, climate, river, mountains all impact on local communities

We will travel to and from the Lower Mustang Region in a private jeep, stopping along the way to sightsee and for a meal break.

The last part of the journey to the Lower Mustang Region may be done on foot (weather dependent) so you can immerse yourself in the local environment.

We include one buffer back-up day in case of weather or other unforeseen circumstances. If this is not required, we will spend a day exploring another local village.
