<li>Enjoy a private sunrise tour of Chich&eacute;n Itz&aacute; before it opens to the public, and gain expert insight on the ruins from National Geographic Explorer Guillermo de Anda, who joins us at the site.</li>
<li>During a special after-hours visit, get an in-depth look at Palenque&rsquo;s illuminative hieroglyphs.</li>

Trip Overview

This trip has an <b>activity rating of light/moderate</b> and suits a range of interests and abilities. Travelers should be physically fit and comfortable walking or standing for extended periods and navigating uneven terrain. Excursions to archaeological sites may include jungle walks in hot and humid conditions on trails that may be muddy and wet, climbing steep stairs without handrails, and hiking narrow, rocky paths. There are also less strenuous walking paths at the sites and nearby places to sit and rest in the shade. Transportation includes travel by small motorized boat on Day 4, and several two- to four-hour drives on partially unpaved roads.
