About this trip

“Ireland is a land of poets and legends, of dreamers and rebels.

All of these have music woven through and around them.

Tunes for dancing or for weeping, for battle, or for love.”

~Nora Roberts

We so thrilled to be curating a seven night retreat this summer, in Ballyfad, Wexford, Ireland.  We will be nestled in a quiet mountain valley made up of equal parts beauty and serenity -

a stunning feast for the senses, and gathering with the earth.

To us, the word mystical means to inspire a sense of mystery, awe, and fascination.  This week has been created to be an evocative journey into the mystical landscape...inside and out.

The retreat combines creative writing, yoga, and relaxation + exploration of  spirit.   We will gather to connect, share stories, play in the ethereal scenery, reclaim inner and outward movement to renew our bodies and minds, and remember who we are at the very core.

Our home for the week is an enchanted renovated barn called Monalea dating back to the 1770’s with both east coast beaches and indigenous oak forest nearby. There are many beautiful woodland and hill walks in the area where we can wander, daydream, take photos, and find inspiration.  It is a mindfully tended, warm space embodying sweetness and tranquility in a natural setting for contemplation and creation.

This includes:

-Meeting at from the jaw dropping Trinity College Library located in the heart of Dublin. We will have transport from the Arklow train station to the Monalea, located at the Wexford/Wicklow border, our home for the week.

-Seven nights at the gorgeous Monalea Barn and adjacent farmhouse that has been named one of the top airbnbs in all of Ireland. It has a large open air fireplace, two big round tables, a space to fit 30 yoga mats, and stone walls that become atmospheric at night, where we can light candles in the many little alcoves.

-A week’s worth of healthy, vibrant vegetarian food to nourish you from the inside.

-An excursion to the exquisitely fantastical gothic Johnstown Castle and Gardens in Wexford These gardens are a diverse and peaceful secluded haven.

-An excursion to the gorgeous Wicklow Mountains National Park and valley town of Glendalough.

-An excursion to the nearby Tobair Patrick Beach, with high dunes looking out to the Irish Sea.

-Two yoga classes per day led by Cole Chance, a 500 RYT teacher, Thai Bodywork Therapist, and international retreat leader who deeply believes in exploring the relationship to self in order to find both freedom and wholeness -on & off the mat.

-Two writing workshops per day, led by author, writing coach and international workshop/retreat leader Victoria Erickson who believes in writing as alchemy, ceremonial gathering, and an ongoing invitation to go deeper into the body and imagination to tell our truths, stories, and ultimately reach our highest creative potential both on and off the page.

-transport to and from Dublin.  (meeting points centrally located)

All writing and yoga classes are optional!

Join us and celebrate simply being alive.

“The world is full of magical things patiently waiting for our senses to grow sharper.”

W.B. Yeats

Her philosophy is to live wide, love big, look deep, and ALWAYS leave room for possibilities!

A Sicilian Summer Yoga and Creative Writing was a wonderful experience for me. The location was divine, and both Cole Chance and Victoria Erickson were phenomenal instructors - excellent at teaching, but also connecting with all attendees and intuitively adapting and bringing what was needed to each class and helping every attendee grow. In addition, the overall schedule of the retreat was perfect with plenty of good yoga and writing content, but also free time to mingle and explore. I felt comfort and familiarity, but also challenged and successful at finding the personal growth I was seeking. Yoga and writing together provide a unique retreat experience and feed off of each other to expand and enrich all of the classes and content, as well as help find flow and ease, something I greatly needed. I also loved the diversity of the group of attendees and what each person brought to the experience. My heart is full, from each person that was part of the retreat to the depth of the teaching and overall experience. This is truly one of the best and most memorable things I've ever done for myself! I will be better for it for the rest of my life. Cheers to Victoria and Cole!

If you feel stuck, if you are running, if you are numb, if you are choosing all the things that you know you don't want to choose but you aren't sure what else to do - then join Emerge. This is an amazing 8 week journey that you will share with other humans struggling just like you. Cole Chance guides you through structured content including self-inquiry, journaling, yoga, meditation/mindfulness (with Jacq St. Pierre), Buddhist philosophy, and even neuroscience. The way it's all tied in really helped it make sense to my brain. There is so much information and available resources that it's hard to get through everything, but that's some of the point. You pick and choose what works for you, leave the rest (or set it aside for later). There are guest workshops that give additional viewpoints and provide other resources to help you. But the biggest help for me were all the check-ins. We met several times a week, and each Sunday was a Satsang specifically built community interaction to talk about wins, challenges, and anything else about the topics covered for the week. The support, connection, compassion, inspiration, courage, openness, and vulnerability that each of us showed to one another and shared with ourselves was beautiful. I'm not fixed or healed, and recovery may be a long forever journey - but I was provided tools, I made friends, I connected with ideas and philosophies that helped me. I was able to challenge the inner voices that always tear me down and start to look at myself as worthy of being in this life again. Reaching out and waiting for this program to start was the hardest part, and once it started showing up each time became easier because we all grew to love one another. If you are struggling or just looking for something more, you deserve this connection too.
