The day begins with some paddling instructions and a safety briefing before we jump on the river in kayaks. We make our way down the Nam Tha River as it meanders through a section of forest inhabited by a wide variety of animals including monkeys, barking deer and a large variety of birds! At a small village we cross the border of the Nam Ha Protected Area. From here we ride down sets of small but exciting rapids to our lunch spot on the river bank.
After a delicious Lao picnic by the side of the river and taking some to swim and relax, we head off downstream again. The next stretch of paddling takes us through a Khmu village before ending where the Nam Ha and Nam Tha Rivers meet. From here we will return to Luang Namtha in time for sunset.
