Naranjo is a small town sheltering some of Costa Rica's best coffee plantations. Over two hundred years of coffee cultivation, have marked Naranjo as a mecca in the production of some of the finest coffees of the world, achieving several world awards for its quality. The first stop of this full-day, small-group excursion will be the Espiritu Santo Coffee Tour; during hour and a half you will learn all the secrets of why this famous drink has taken the world over. You will be able to learn about all coffee stages, from the seed to the cup. The visit takes place in farm own by the local cooperative of coffee growers, where a coffee landscaping of rolling hills make a unique scenery. After the coffee tour, you will continue to the Municipal Market, where vegetables, fruits, meats and other products are for sale for the local inhabitants to buy them always fresh. The guide will tell you all about the different fruits and explain how they are used in local homes. You will have lunch in one the eateries of the market. After lunch you will visit the local church, the Basilica of the Lady of Piedades, rebuilt after several earthquakes in the 1940s. On the way back to the lodge, you will stop at a local bakery to buy some bread and continue for a coffee tasting at don Carlos ́s farm, to enjoy a fresh cup of coffee in his private home.  

In the evening, get ready for a traditional cooking workshop at Doña Elida's place, to celebrate Niko's birthday! Price: $270 for the whole family (to be paid at the lodge), including English speaking guide and transportation.

Mid morning, get ready for a 3-hour private transfer to Manuel Antonio, where you will check in at the Family Suite of Hotel Parador, close to the beach and offering stunning views over the Pacific Ocean. The epitome of Costa Rican paradise, Manuel Antonio offers arguably the most breathtaking view of the Central Pacific coast. The beautifully lush tropical cliffs and white sand beaches have turned its National Park into one of Costa Rica’s main tourist attractions.

Optional: Take a half-day private excursion to the Manuel Antonio National Park. Once in the park, your guide will take you along the easy trails and will teach you about the vegetation, the birds and the animals that live here. Several species of monkeys, iguanas, birds and possibly even the three-toed sloth can be seen. After this walk you can simply relax and enjoy the beach, sunbathe, or take another stroll around the park's trails, which will allow you to observe Manuel Antonio’s abundant flora and fauna once more. Manuel Antonio NP is a small yet super bio-diverse national treasure and on this tour you’ll be able to learn about its wildlife. Price per person: $50 (includes transportation and entrance fee).

Optional: Take a zip line and canopy tour. Leap from the treetops and witness the wonder and awe of the jungle canopy in this thrilling adventure! After early breakfast, 1.5-hour private overland transfer to Sierpe and then enjoy a 1.5-hour boat ride through the magnificent Sierpe Mangrooves and along the Pacific Coast, until your reach Poor Man's Paradise Lodge, right next to Corcovado NP in the Osa Peninsula. Due to the lack of roads, this magical corner of the world has maintained its natural beauty. A rustic setting with miles of uninhabited beaches, scarlet macaws flying overhead, and the captivating beauty of the rainforest, will be the base for your wilderness adventure. This is a great spot for deep sea fishing, birdwatching, scuba diving, snorkeling, and for experiencing the remarkable biodiversity of the Peninsula's tropical rainforest. Free afternoon and evening to acclimatize.

Today your captain and guide will be ready to sail with you to Caño Island (upgraded to private excursion). This is an excellent spot for snorkelling and the observation of marine wildlife such as dolphins, sharks and may be even whales. A box lunch will be served on the island. 

Experience up-close the lush, natural beauty of Costa Rica’s rainforest. Enjoy nature: be still, quiet, and look closely. Whether you are a simple observer, bird watcher, or photographer, the nature here will amaze you. The local flora and planted fruit trees attract a huge variety of creatures to the farm, like monkeys, sloths, pumas, scarlet macaws, etc.; the list can go on for pages! 

Today you will enjoy a half-day, private hiking excursion into Corcovado National Park. The tour begins from the lodge, early in the morning we will take you by boat to the San Pedrillo Park Station. Once at the park you will enjoy guided hike into the tropical rainforest of Corcovado where you can see a lot of birds and mammals and enjoy the jungle itself. The return can be done by foot and takes about 3 hours, although it's not recommended with children.  The tour includes guide, picnic lunch, and entrance fee to the park. On special request this tour can also take place in the Sirena Station, central portion of the shore line of Corcovado National Park. It involves a much longer boat ride. The Sirena station usually offers great chances to see the Baird's Tapir and a lot of wildlife. Due to its geographical location, climate, soil conditions and topography, this area is home of an amazing diversity of biological species.

Free morning. In the afternoon, get ready for a horse riding adventure. This relaxing horseback ride allows you to explore the jungle and beach of this incredible area. Ride through the trails and old road ways that the pioneers used. Birds, howler monkeys, white face monkeys, and many other animals will be spotted along the way. You can also catch a breathtaking sunset as you stroll horseback along the beach and make a four legged friend with a beautiful head of hair as well!
