Scaled Pricing and Date Options
Local option: We offer ticket options for local participants who do not require overnight accommodation to join for the two full days of workshops on Saturday, June 22 and Sunday, June 23.
Out of town option: For those traveling from out of town, we offer accommodation options from camping to private rooms. Check-in for accommodation bookings begins Friday, June 21 and check-out will be Monday, June 24.

What's in store:
- Two thorough, full, and fun natural dye workshop days
- Riverwalk and swim (and swimming pool!)
- Guided plant walk, tour of the land, and foraging tips
- All workshop materials are included, but you are also encouraged to bring your own natural fiber items to dye.
Workshop Series: Natural Dyeing
Using only organic plant matter, you will gain knowledge and experiment with the art of natural dyeing. You will take home samples in a variety of colors and fibers. Our first workshop day will be focused on natural indigo dyeing, and our second workshop day will dive into resists and immersion dyeing with mordant dyes (reds, yellows... we will make a rainbow!), as well as the effects of different mordants and tannins.
All workshop materials are included, but you are encouraged to bring your own natural fiber items to dye!
The Food
All meals are made with nourishing ingredients. We support our local farms when possible. If you have any special dietary needs or restrictions, please list them in your booking notes, and we can accommodate them.
The Retreat Space
Our retreat space is surrounded by open fields, woods, the Monocacy River, and an excellent view of Sugarloaf Mountain. We have a few designated campsites, as well as a few bedrooms in our main retreat house for rent.
We have a limited number of bedrooms available. You may book a private king bedroom with your own bathroom, a private queen bedroom with shared bathrooms, a shared twin bedroom, or camp out on one of our campsites.

Meet Your Guide
Kristin is a natural dyer, educator, gardener, and designer based in Maryland. She has taught workshops and led retreats all over the country, served on the board of Local Cloth, and been involved in Fibersheds from Northern California, to the Mid-Atlantic, to the Blue Ridge Mountains. By exploring the collision of textiles, plants, and sustainability, her goal is to help make the study of natural dyes accessible to everyone through education and enthusiasm. Kristin is a lifelong learner, a student and teacher of yoga (RYT 200) and is currently enrolled in her third Yoga Teacher Training program, often combining elements from these teachings into her creative workshops.

Cancellation Policy
We understand that unexpected events can arise that can affect your plans. Kindly note, deposits are non-refundable.
If you cancel more than 60 days before the retreat start date and you have paid the full booking amount in addition to the deposit, you may request a refund for your payment minus the non-refundable deposit. If you cancel your booking less than 60 days before departure (after April 21, 2024), the penalty is 50% of the trip price. If you cancel your booking within 45 days of departure (after May 7, 2024), the penalty is 75%. If you cancel within 30 days of departure (after May 21, 2024), the penalty is 100%.

- AccommodationFor those who select overnight accommodation. Locals may opt to stay off-site and travel in for day-long workshops.
- Foraging and Plant WalkGuided walk on the land including plant identification and dye properties
- Natural Dye SeriesLearn to dye with plants to create vibrant colors and patterns on natural fiber
- Indigo Dye WorkshopLearn to dye with natural indigo in our 20-gallon, natural indigo vat. We will work with shibori and clay paste to resist indigo dye and create patterns on cloth.
- Make a Rainbow WorkshopWe will dye with primary color mordant dyes to create natural rainbows, and so many values in between, using different mordants and tannins.
- Open Studio DyeingYou will have a few hours to work on your own project with access to the large indigo vat, mordant dyes, and other materials, as well as coaching and guidance from Kristin.
- Dyeing w/ Foraged PlantsOn our foraging walk, we will gather seasonal dye plants to work with, including black walnuts and fresh leaf indigo.
- All workshop materialsYou are also encouraged to bring your own natural fiber items to dye!

Available Packages
Do you live local to Adamstown? You can participate in the weekend by simply spending the days, the workshops, and meals with us. Each workshop day will begin around 10 am and wrap around 6 pm*, with lunch and free time in between. You would be welcome to stay for dinner as well. This ticket option includes all workshops, workshop materials, and lunch and dinner on both Saturday and Sunday.
*The schedule is subject to change and will be communicated well in advance so you are prepared!
Set up a tent on one of our camping platforms under the trees! The campsites are primitive and are a short (~3 minute) drive from a shared bathroom with sinks and flushing toilets.
Campers are welcome to any of the full shared bathrooms in the main house, or access to our shared 1/2 bathhouse in the main dye space.
Our shared twin bedroom is perfect for those looking to sleep comfortably indoors. This bedroom is located in our main retreat house. If you would like to share with another participant, please list their name in your booking details
Our private queen bedroom is perfect for those looking to sleep comfortably indoors. This bedroom is located in our main retreat house. If you would like to share with another participant, please list their name in your booking details
Our private king bedroom with a private bath is located in the main retreat house with views overlooking Sugarloaf Mountain. It features a private bath with a jacuzzi bathtub. If you would like to share with another participant, please sign up through "Shared King with Private Bath" pricing option.
This king bedroom is in a separate apartment from our main retreat house, just about a 3-5 minute walk from the main gathering space. While all meals are provided, you can never beat having access to a full kitchen. This apartment includes a private bathroom and a full kitchen. If you would like to share with another participant, please list their name in your booking details.
