About your trip

**You can book on to either Day 1 or 2 or both days, although we recommend booking both, to get the most out of this course. This course is suitable for runners or hikers who are new to navigation , as well as those who already have some knowledge of navigation, who wish to improve their skills and to boost their performance and confidence. ****

This is an inninovative approach to navigation learning, which offers the shared experiences of experts from the world of orienteering, multi-day racing and fell running. It offers a much higher ratio of hands on learning, in comparison to your standard instructor to student top down approach because we believe in not only learning through doing, but in learning from our own and each other’s mistakes.

The theory element will allow you to practice in a group and compare experiences, pitfalls and previous errors. This will involve a Q&A session, and route plotting, using actual event maps. Refreshments are available in our classroom on Heathfield Industrial Estate, which is located right on the edge of south eastern Dartmoor, with some ideal navigation terrain.

Our guest speakers/instructors include Qualified Mountain Leader, former teacher and experienced fell runner Ceri Rees and world top ten orienteering champion Gavin Clegg.
