The opening of a travelingl exhibit at the country's first state supported art museum in Raleigh is the perfect time to enjoy not only "A Modern Vision: European Masterworks from The Phillips Collection" but the amazing permanent collection at the museum as well. The Phillips Collection features 50 paintings by iconic artists such as Edgar Degas, Vincent Van Gogh, Claude Monet, Pablo Picasso and Paul Cezanne. Beyond your timed admission to experience this collection there will be time to spend in the other dozen galleries holding works from around the world and a variety of art types. African, European, Egyptian, American and Jewish works grace the galleries. Thirty Rodin sculptures lead the holdings of this artist's work in the southeastern United States and monumental art installations dot the landscape outside of the museum.
In addition to our museum visit we make a stop at The Transfer Food Hall in Raleigh for lunch. This food hall exhibits culinary art with a variety of creative offerings in a casual setting. Italian specialties, Asian delicacies and even delicious bagel sandwiches are just a few of the choices you will have at this food hall located in the historic Carolina Coach Garage.
