About this trip

This trek is close to our hearts and one we’re very proud to share with you. The Langtang region is home to our guides and the team that Impact Marathon works with on these Bolt-On Adventures. It's also the region we see directly in front of our Athletes' Village. This region is often ignored by tourists, who favour the much more talked about Annapurna and Everest treks. If you want to get off the beaten path and see how the Nepali people live, this is the trek for you. You’ll walk through forests, visit a monastery in the foothills of the Langtang Himalayan Mountains and see Yaks at work with the Yolmo people of the region. The places, people and views are amazing - and the perfect isolation that comes with visiting this hidden gem is exactly why we have seen this as our most popular Bolt-On over the years.

Trip postponed due to Covid and political situation in Ethiopia so still haven't travelled

The trip itself was great, brilliant guides and amazing things to see. The organising and communications from the old town outfitters was poor - we had three different versions of timings and itineraries! It would have also been better if we’d had more free time at the lake (as at least one itinerary suggested...) as all the steps and the post marathon body did need a bit more tlc than it got on this trip

An amazing experience. Everything was so well organised - the team really go out of their way to make sure that everyone has an unforgettable experience. A great mix of travel, meeting some amazing people, giving back and running in a stunning national park. The run is suitable for anyone - from people walking the 10k to people completing their 50th Marathon! If you are thinking of booking Nepal 2020 then do it - you won't regret it!

An absolutely incredible week, and a totally unique experience. I’d echo the other reviews – Impact week’s are not your typical tourist trip: we got hands on helping rebuild a mountain road, had our eye’s opened with some challenging but inspiring charity visits, stayed in a fantastic location with some of the most stunning views, and best of all shared it all with some amazing people. I’d highly recommend Impact trips for anyone travelling solo, they’re a great way to meet a real mix of people from all over the world who are brought so closely together by the experiences over the week.
