Departing from Nouméa, we will cruise along the island's Western coastline into the remote Northern Lagoon, exploring pristine reefs, vibrant marine life, and rarely visited dive sites.

New Caledonia is a remote South Pacific archipelago defined by its vast coral lagoon, pristine reef systems, and extraordinary marine biodiversity.

Surrounded by one of the most intact reef ecosystems on Earth, it offers a diving environment that is both globally significant and visually breathtaking.

Home to the world’s largest coral lagoon and the second-largest barrier reef, much of the system is protected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Divers encounter crystal-clear waters, untouched reef structures, dramatic drop-offs, and historic shipwrecks that reflect the region’s complex maritime history.

The waters here are known for high-level pelagic encounters, including shark-rich reef passes where schooling reef sharks, manta rays, and large fish aggregations are commonly observed.

With over 9,000 recorded marine species, including many endemics found nowhere else on the planet, biodiversity is exceptionally high.

Seasonal highlights such as humpback whale migration or mass fish spawning events add another dimension.

September is one of the best months to encounter humpback whales in New Caledonia. During this season, the whales gather in the region’s warm, sheltered waters to breed and raise their calves, offering exceptional opportunities for observation in a remote and pristine setting.

Alongside world-class diving, this creates a rare chance to witness these animals in their natural environment from the comfort of a liveaboard expedition.

Please note that whale swimming is not a targeted activity on this trip. Humpback whales are strictly protected in New Caledonia, but our remote catamaran-based itinerary provides excellent conditions for respectful and memorable sightings from the boat.

All profits generated through this expedition will be invested directly into funding my master's research project in marine biology. I will bombard you with all the research insights on the cruise, do not worry 😁
