Your international flight should arrive into San Jose, Costa Rica (SJO) ANYTIME on Monday 04 March 2024.

On arrival, take an ORANGE AIRPORT TAXI from the arrivals terminal to our group hotel in San Jose, which is a 10 minute drive from the airport and should only cost around $20 including tip. It is not advised to take a ride from an unofficial taxi.

Your reservation will be under your own name or Chirriposa Retreats.

If you have any problems or need assistance, then you can contact Tania +506 83252514, who will be staying at the hotel and traveling with you to the mountains the following day.

There will be a meet and greet at the hotel rooftop bar at 6:00pm followed by an dinner (not included) in the hotel restaurant.

The following morning after breakfast, there will be a group departure from the hotel at 9:00am sharp! You should be checked out and have your bags ready to be loaded into the private bus by 8:30am. The journey to the retreat venue is a 3 hour scenic drive, over the mountain pass and the intercontinental divide, at an elevation of 10,000ft. Remember to pack a warm top for our coffee break in the clouds!

We will arrive at our destination in the Chirripó mountains just after midday, in time for lunch, a quick orientation, check in, a short rest and then kick off of our retreat!

If you choose not to stay on an extra day, for our beach and waterfall excursion, then your group departure will be at 8:00am on Friday 08 March, which will get you into San Jose by midday (12:00pm). Therefore your international flight should not depart from SJO before 3:00pm.

If you will be staying the extra night, then we suggest that you book your flight for the following day, Saturday 09 March, anytime after 3:00pm.

If you need to get an earlier flight, then we can assist you in finding a hotel to stay in San Jose or we can help to arrange a private driver, at an additional cost.

Very fun and professionally run retreat. Angus, Tanya, and Richard went above and beyond to make the trip special. The retreat was in a beautiful location and staffed by the most gracious and caring staff. Meals were over the top gourmet level. Given this was a yoga retreat, the facilities were well appointed with fantastic views and professional instructors. Day trips were well planned and well executed. I would definately recommend these folks for any of your travel plans.

Another lovely travel experience with Karma yoga! The trip was well balanced with yoga and sight seeing. Accommodation was beautiful and the food was fantastic. Angus and Tanya do a great job. Another lovely trip!

Working with Angus and Tania of Chirriposa Retreats on yoga retreat planning is always amazing! They are responsive, savvy and — in addition to their relaxed demeanor — they are always there with everything they promised, on time and with a smile. And occasionally a couple dogs that always make the group smile. This was Turavita’s second retreat working with them and both were fabulous.
